Is there anyone besides me who'd love to see the rise of a universal church of tolerance that puts emphasis on the the similaries between world religions rather than their differences?

I am all for it. Show me the way. I love that idea. I mean I don't think it matters what faith you have as long as you have faith.

Nope!..Not Me! ...folks would still find something to argue about because of the tolerance between religions!.....Ps. There is no such thing as a church of tolerance according to the Bible.... True Born Again Believers Who Follows GOD'S WORD (Bible)...Believes The Scriptures --(JESUS Is The Way, The Truth, And The Life, No One Cometh Unto The (Heavenly) Father, Except Through JESUS) (Jonh 14: 6).....

What a great idea.
It's not the thought of certain faiths I dislike so much as the intolerance I see among a few major religions. These are the people who vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of their own.

Why would I want to join that church. It already has the signs of christianity in it.

One has to convince me why we need a universal church of tolerance. Are you one of those who have violated human rights and are trying to get away from everyone finding out? Or do you expect me to forget all the atrocities of the criminals and
continue welcoming you with open arms as though
nothing has happened. I would ask you to first close down
all courts of justice. And United Nations where accountability
sometimes surfaces, or schools of thought or whatever
takes us to development for better lives.

I feel violated when someone tells me we should all now
belong to one church. What do you think is wrong with my
belief that you want me to give it up to believe in your new
one?

I know what the western world wants. One race, one language,
one religion, one way of life. One tree, one animal, one bird, one way of expression.

Brilliant. You will not see me there. I have a very serious problem with muslims and I will not belong to the same
church they attend.

No thank you. The Promise Keepers is all about "just getting along." Christ himself doesn't teach "tolerance." He does teach that we are to love everyone, but there's a big difference between loving everyone and tolerating their religious beliefs or lack thereof.

It would be a nice thing. But since the majority of people living on this planet believe in one of the two religious that preach intolerance. That church would be forbidden immediately...

The United Methodist Church is the in ordinary words one i comprehend of different then the UUC. that is extra classic Christian then the UUC (non secular and god established) yet believes in equivalent rights for each body. there is not any communicate of homosexuality being a sin, no hell and brim fireplace, and focuses extra on the hot Testement (love your neighbor, and so on) it isn't out for equivalent marriage rights yet is professional civil partnerships, professional attractiveness, professional equality. the in ordinary words element in the UMC is that LGBTers that are "out" won't be able to be ordained as ministers.

There is already a church like that.. Unitarian Universalists.

They can't talk about anything of Truth because everyone would be offended...so expect nice fuzzy stories.

that'd be great, a Church that plans down the love and sovereinty of Christ and recognizes false Gods so that the world of hippies and hollywood disciples would be happy. Sign me up.

that might be nice, then all of the religions would see how much we all really have in common, and how little differences there actually are. I just think they emphasize on the differences so it makes them seem so much bigger.
