Here's a web site displaying pictures and captions of the 12 Signs of Fascism, with Rampant Sexism being one of the 12 signs: http://mvp-seattle.com/Pages/pageFascism.htm

Rampant Sexism is defined by this site as:
"Governments of fascist states tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Traditional gender roles are made even more rigid and exaggerated.

Condemnation of abortion and a virulent homophobia are commonly built into broad policy."

Which of the 12 Fascist signs do you see present in our society, and why do you think it is important?

Here's the introduction from the Official Shrub web site about the "We Can't be Equal While..." list:

Warning: The following post is a list that links to many examples of why the idea that we Westerners live in a genderblind society, meaning that we have achieved total equality, is a myth. And if you are a man who reads this list and thinks that women should stop “whining” about the “small stuff” then you are just proving the point that this list is trying to make.

We Can’t Be Equal While: Part 1: Gender Roles
-Men are the default and women are the Other (and therefore lesser).
-Being called “girly” or a “sissy” or “*ussy” are some of the worst insults you can give a man.
-When a woman shows confidence in herself, she is said to have *alls, or conversely she is a man-eater, *all-buster, or a *itch because she was too assertive.
-Men are beat up, ridiculed, or made fun of for being effeminate and women are beat up & ridiculed for being masculine

A few posters claim US feminists have it all locked up in the good ole USA and equality is reigning the nation (I disagree); then they claim US feminists aren't focusing on global equality issues, like they should (hmm curious how people who aren't active in a movement and do what they can to run it down, feel they have the right to tell others how to run the movement).

So what global equality issues have US feminists been working on, and why are they important?

Just thinking about the way a lot of masculine values have been suppressed in today's society and replaced with feminized values, for example:

freedom replaced by security
justice replaced by compassion
logic replaced by emotion
suppressing emotions replaced by emotional expression
objectivity replaced by subjectivity

Bill Maher listed a few in his video on feminism:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_Z8j4QJ0oiY&NR=1

feelings more important than fact
commitment more important than individuality
sensitivity is more important than truth
children more important than people
safety is more important than fun

What are some more masculine values that have been suppressed in today's society and what are the feminized values they have been replaced with? What masculine values do you think have been suppressed to the effect of alienating men in today's society?

Swedish pastors believe the practice to be sexist. A father giving possession of his daughter to the new owner, her husband was the traditional reason.

And, perhaps more importantly, why do some otherwise very smart straight women accomodate that need by acting dumb and giggly around guys?

clarify this for me? I was watching this court channel and they said the case was so difficult that they had a "hung" jury... So that means the size of your package is related to your decision making abilities... like the bigger it is the better your judgment, right? Does that mean women dont make nearly as good judges as men?

I believe that abortion should be a safe and legal choice. I have mixed feelings about it but I believe that is a matter for the patient and her doctor and is not any politician's business.

I would not enjoy performing abortions but I think that if they were illegal than I would perform them for free and when I could because of the horrible risks for desperate women having unsafe abortions.

What do you think?

Over the years, one of the major excuses adult women have cited as the reason for staying in abusive relationships is economic dependence.

Teenage girls live at home. They are economically dependent on at least one parent. Why then, if they're in an abusive relationship (or what they perceive to be an abusive relationship) would they remain in it?

I work in a clothing store, and with just a well-placed 5 cent remark I can convince these weak-willed women to buy an expensive outfit that she doesn't need.

Are women naturally slaves to their vanity ? or is it SOCIETY'S fault for teaching women to value beauty so much?

Well i wouldnt say it did the whole thing, but partly it did it because the women i was dating was a feminist and even the thing i say to her out of care is regarded as controlling, where does the boundaries come it, does it mean i have to take every thing she does and says without saying anything to her ?

And the thing i said to her was out of care and was without controlling her, why do feminist have to jump at everything a man doesnt agree with, without thinking about the logic behind it or what does it cost the relationship in the long run ?

All this is, is girls lying to cover themselves of responsibility, but of course it is the boys/mens fault. Where is this boy/man bashing and girl/woman lack of personal responsibility going to end.

In the article "Dating violence prevalent among students"
30 percent of U.S. college students have been in relationships that involve physical aggression, a U.S. expert said. "Even more have been in relationships that are emotionally abusive," Sandra Stith, director of the marriage and family therapy program at Kansas State University, said in a statement. "Likewise, approximately 25 percent of high school students who are in relationships are subjected to abuse."

I found more information about the study at the the college web site: "K-State domestic violence expert looks at dating violence among high school, college students
http://www.humec.ksu.edu/news/2007/09/13/k-state-domestic-violence-expert-looks-at-dating-violence-among-high-school-college-students/

This article pointed out that both female and male — are being battered, sexually abused or stalked by their dates, according to the Kansas State University professor Stith.

What can we do about dating violence?

Quoted from http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Evils%20in%20America/Feminism/dangers.htm

Some Background:
"So where does feminism fit into all of this? Several books could be written concerning the evils and destructive forces inherent to feminism. Feminism is anti-God, anti-marriage, and anti-family. What is feminism? Let’s start with what feminism isn’t. It is NOT women’s rights, as many have been deliberately misled to believe. God created man and woman equal in dignity, worth, and human rights. However, God did NOT create man and woman equal in authority. God clearly mandated that the husband would rule over his wife (Genesis 3:16, “…and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee”). This is the dividing line, the great barrier that separates God-fearing women from the feminist movement. In a word--AUTHORITY. The Godly wife obeys her husband. No husband is perfect, and the Godly woman understands this. TO BE CONTINUED. (Don't answer yet.)
