Mothers make more of a difference in this world than all of the teachers, politicians, soldiers, police, doctors, lawyers, CEOs, religious leaders and all other occupations combined. There is no better way to improve the world than by being a good mother. Sadly the role of motherhood doesn't offer the money, power and prestige of lesser careers. many women fall victim to greed and ambition and compromise this vital role to pursue selfish interests.

A full time mother is a teacher, counselor, friend, coach, manager, chef, entertainer, housekeeper, and much much more. She gets to work with the people she loves. She gets to be her own boss, write her own schedule, and go at her own pace. She can make the job as boring or as exciting as she wants. It is the most important and fulfilling career there is. The job has everything but the things our society values the most... Money, Power and Prestige.

Of course women can be mysogynistic. The word "women" is a plural noun, not a collective consciousness. Women can hate, debase, exploit and discriminate against other women. However, your anecdote regarding your pregnant friend does not necessarily illustrate her sister as being mysogynistic. Mysogynistic behavior requires a particular attitude about women (consciously or unconsciously), it is not an accurate label for someone just because they decide against a woman in some sort of process of elimination or dispute. Obviously you feel outraged by what your friend's sister has said and done but your choice of phrase to describe her is not accurate unless she behaves in this manner all the time AND towards women in general, not just her own sister.

Women by design are the nest builders. We take care of the family by nurturing body, mind and spirit. We are natural educators. We handle what I call the soft work. We provide physical and emotional comfort by kissing a wound or just saying the right thing when someone needs a kind word. We can see both the bottom line and the human need. We can wear many hats at a time and be all things to all those around us if required.

Well, women have a central role to play in the family in that they keep the balance. Young children need the comfort, support and security of their mothers. This doesn't mean that a woman can't work. It's just that so many young couples are more interested in watching t.v. and eating junk food without any play, attention and discussion at home. They ignore their kids. They go out for cocktail parties, tennis lessons, hockey games, beer-drinking and smoke pot in front of their kids.

Women are as equal as men are and they are very important. Women infulence children in how to deal with life. Men need women and vice versa. With out women there would be no children, and vice versa. I think that there are too many things to mention and even think of at the presence that would state how important women are to our society.
