not really, and not anymore. Everyone is human, and men in the past were told they were acting like females when they cried, but now they are told they are human too, so they do cry and most have learned to open up to expressing themselves.

YES. Tha'ts how we're made. Women are supposed to be the nurturers, while men are supposed to be the disciplinarians. Yes, this is in terms of kids, but the emotions are also a factor in this. Men are rough and tumble, but do have emotions. Whereas women, even though they have them, are delicate. Emotions are considered a delicate thing, therefore, women can express them, and not be ridiculed(sometimes), but men, if they express a delicate emotion, they will be ridiculed. This is just a societal thing. I hear men in Europe are in tune with their emotions and don't have a problem expressing them freely. But in other societies, this kind of expression is considered feminine. Plus, I think men's egos are more delicate, so if their emotions don't get dealt with in a positive way, or any way, they won't express them anymore.

I think men seem to get more stressed than I do, but I also have times when I just cry about something quite trivial. I also think that women have a lot more empathy than men, so we can see how someone else might be feeling and feel for them more. I know it's a cliche, but I do think those old swings in the hormones cause some of the emotional outbursts.

No, men are just as emotional but about different things. Plus men try not to show their emotions as much as women

Women are more emotional than men because the basic emotions of 'love and compassion' are present in huge quantities since every woman carries the capability of being a creator (mother) and men although may be equally emotional are seldom seen to express their emotions so openly, the difference may only be a small one.

Only in the context of hormones are women more emotional than men. Even then, it is not exclusive or only because of the hormones.
In most cases women are more in touch with their feelings and more easily express them. Men, on the other hand, because of our culture, keep their emotions within. (might be why they die sooner than women).
Just watch the evening news when some terrorist strikes in the Middle East. Men are not ashamed to show their emotions. They weep and grieve with great intensity at the loss of a loved one. Their culture does not prevent the outward show of emotions.
We, here in the west, have a lot to learn.

No - but humans have different ways of expressing their emotions. It's unfortunate for women to have an overseer in their lives to tell them that they take things too seriously and emote too frequently. Women are not allowed to judge that the shouting excitement of men at political rallies, at pop concerts, Promenande concerts and football matches are all emtional. The singing, the yelling, the rude gestures in sporting features are all emotional outlets. Shouting at their children and wives, losing their tempers and bringing down their fists is exceptionally emotional and, cheering and jeering at pornographic films with the lads is very emotional indeed. (also the reaction these films produce is emotional as well). So is sulking.

Women are often more expressive of emotions, with the possible exception of anger. Men are generally discouraged from displays of emotion.
Interesting fact (I can't find the reference at the moment): men seem to show a greater response on lie detector tests than women. Apparently, even when we hide our emotions, our physiological response still gives us away.

I think women have emotional logic, and men have mental logic. We tend to think that emotions are more important than men do. Men tend to think is more important, the facts alone are what they are after. Men are from Mars, women from Venus. That's why we are so good together, you know the yin and yang thing?

Hormones are a very powerful drug. They make women emotional, they make men sex driven. A group of women were given testosterone to cure a medical condition and soon were all begging to be taken off the treatment because they couldn't handle suddenly always thinking about sex.
I'm sure I would be in constant tears if I were suddenly dosed with estrogen.

Slightly more so, just.... but its more acceptable for a woman to be emotional than a man.
Some men are big softies which is cute and some women are about as emotional as a rock.
