My 15 month old daughter has been unwell for the past 3 days, she has high temperature on and off, she is not eating as much as she usually does and she is generally listless and pathetic looking. IT has got worse over the 3 days, I am going to the doctors tomorrow but I am just a bit worried now and am wondering what it could be.
Also does anyone know any baby healthcare sites that could help me out?

I need help. Almost a week ago I asked a question if it was ok to lock my child in his room and almost everyone said no way and thought I was crazy. So after feeling horrible I stopped looking his door this week. Now he is staying up until 12 pm each night and still waking up early at 6 am. I pick him up and put him back in bed but he just keeps coming out. OR.. he falls asleep for an hour wakes up and we go thru the same process again. Now he is so sleep deprived that he is acting horrible and getting into everything, I am totally stressed out and tired (I also have a newborn that wakes up at night) and don't know what to do.
Also.. when I locked the door I unlocked it after he was asleep.
What do I do to keep him in bed? Will this ever end?
He also is not taking naps. I am SO STRESSED OUT!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and offer suggestions or help. I know it will help me. thanks.
Also, we have fire alarms and I have a baby monitor in my sons room, its safe

we have a daughter who is 5 and her little friend comes over and she always has marks on her arms.I asked her what happend?..she says her daddy puts a hot fork on her cause he was mad.I asked the father if that were true and he says yes.I said what do you do?..He said that when he was a boy his father would put a fork under a flame and make him watch to see the fork get red hot. Then he would brand him on the arm when he did something wrong. He said he learned not to do it again.

For those that just turned 3 in the last 6 months...

Can your child:

Put on with minimal to no assistance:
Slip-on shoes
A pull-up or undies
Pants
T-shirt

Count to 10

Recognize primary colors

Name charaters from favorite movie

Open a bedroom door

Use the potty consistently

What other things can your 3 year old do?

My two years kid does not imitate what we say to him. He says few words like "papa", "mama", "dada", etc.... but not exactly looking at the papa or mama. He talks a lot through out the day, and makes lot of funny sounds, but not having any sence. We have done his visual and hearing test and he has no problem in this. He was bad in eye contact, now he is developing in that as we asked to look at us many times and he looks at us accordingly. We dont think he has any problem with his tounge too as he makes lot of sounds that to through out the day. He is really having a good IQ, what ever he sees us doing, he imitates that very well. Can anyone help us, what to do so that he will imiate what we say to him ? I am in California, Can anyone provide me numbers of early intervention program, so that I can talk to them and might be they can help me out.

My husband, 14 month old daughter and I live in the Caribbean, and we have been home to old blighty for Xmas.
The flight is 11 longs, and on the way out my daughter just got really angry, over tired, uncomfortable and frustrated. There was nothing we could do to comfort her and she screamed blue murder most of the way.
Not only was it completely exhausting for her and us, but all the other passengers were ready to kill us by the end of it.
How can I help her relax - I tried Calpol but it didnt work. Any other child friendly drugs I can use? Does anyone have any tips?

My son hardly eats. I have worked out that he is only eating/drinking around 600/700 calories a day. I have read that for his length he should be getting around 1100.

I'm totally out of ideas. I have him drinking pediasure just so he gets something in him. He will try pretty much everything I offer, but usually spits most of it out.

I'm just worried he is not getting enough of anything to enable him to grow at a healthy rate.

I have a darling six month old boy. I am a stay at home mom looking for something fun we can go out and do together. Has anyone taken the mommy and me swim lessons with a child this young? They are offered for children 6 months- 3 years. Do you think that he would enjoy it or would you wait until summer when he is closer to one year? Just curious. Do you have any other suggestions of fun activities we can do together during these winter months?

Just today my daughter has been pulling at her diaper and crying, the first time she did it I just thought she wanted her diaper changed so I changed it, and she was fine for a bit then about and hour later she was doing it again, crying at pulling at it.What is wrong with her? She doesn't seem sick or anything and has a normal temperature. I haven't introduced her to the potty so I don't know what could be going on, she has never done this before.Any experiences?

If there is, how long does it last?

Our 4 y/o son has been vomiting and "running to the bathroom " since New Year's Eve morning. We took him to the Ergent Care yesterday (doc's office was closed) and they didn't seem to be too concerned saying "it's going around and just keep him hydrated". They never really said what he had except that we need to keep him hydrated. I've never had his condition and am wondering if it is something worse?

My little girl is 2 1/2 and we have moved her into her big girl bed because she wanted to sleep in it instead of the crib. Anyway the first 2 nights went fine(this was 2 weeks ago) now it is hell..She screams like a banshee and litterly acts like a animal, we have tried putting the gate up in the doorway(which she just climbs over in 2 seconds flat), tried just keep putting her back in bed, tried leaving the door open and light on, tried staying with her, tried letting her fall asleep somewhere else then moving her, and even tried putting her back in her crib which she climbs out of as fast as we put her in, but nothing seems to work...Me and my fiance are just at our witends with this we have no idea what to do anymore, we've tried everything we could think of, stuff we've read, stuff people has told us but nothing works with her..Any real serious help would be appreciated...Thanks

my daughter is about to begin preschool either at the end of this month or the begining of next month. someone will have to be there to get her off to school early in the morning and to be there when she gets home every day around 2. i work full time from 8 am until 5 pm every day. ive been at this job for 9 months but just started to work in the corporate office - a definate step up. im afraid to ask as they just got me in here and really need me here. i can not afford to lose my job. i dont really trust anyone but my mother to watch my daughter. she's been watching her but she doesnt want to go to our house to pick her up after school. we live about 20 min. from her. i was thinking i could take my lunch break to pick up and drop her off, but it would wind up being a really long break. i dont know that my boss would be happy?? i was also thinking of getting into work early and not taking lunch and leaving early every day. i dont think theyd like that either!?! advice, anyone? :) thx!!

My daughter is almost 2 and i have been a stay at home mom since she was born. I havent spent more than a few hours away from her since her birth and she gets panicky when i do leave her. My parents think i should place her in day care in order for her to get used to me leaving her and to teach her social skills such as playing well with other children. I am expecting my second child in May i know she will probably be jealous for a while. Any advice or recommendations? I dont want her in daycare but if im somehow hobbeling her social development by keeping her with me will try somthing for her. She is around other children quite a bit in play groups etc.

Hello,
My daughter is having her 2nd bday this Feb. and she loves
Dora the explorer. But I figured since she is our little princess
we would try to make it the Dora Princess theme. Much to
my dismay they dont sell it that way. So, I am trying to put it
together the best I can. I have gone on ebay and really havent
had much luck. But I would like some printables to work with
to make some home made decorations. Any links or ideas
would be appreciated. Thank you.

I work in a preschool classroom and have a 4 yr old boy in class that has reoccuring bladder stones. He has passed 2 of them in class now. His mother doesn't think it is an issue and acts like it is not a big deal, but this boy is in exteme pain. His mother even questions if he is just doing it to get to go home, but i know that is not true. I need some advice on what i can tell her about this issue so she will take it seriously. I am at the point where I feel like i might have to report her for neglect. The amount of pain that he goes through is incredible for a young child.

thank you.
