My 15 month old daughter has been unwell for the past 3 days, she has high temperature on and off, she is not eating as much as she usually does and she is generally listless and pathetic looking. IT has got worse over the 3 days, I am going to the doctors tomorrow but I am just a bit worried now and am wondering what it could be.
Also does anyone know any baby healthcare sites that could help me out?

I'm sure that it is just a virus. Make her drink plenty of liquids like gatorade or any sports drink. Food isnt as important as fluids. Dehydration is the biggest worry, so give her ibuprofen and along with the fluids, she'll be fine. Keep your dr. appt for tomorrow, even if she is starting to act better by then.

If you are that concerned then go to your local A&E unit. I would suggest phoning the NHS direct helpline but their advice will either be go to your GP or get down the hospital. I know it is New Year, but I really wouldn't wait until the health services get back to normal before doing something - if it were my child I'd have been down the hospital long before now. Your doctor's surgery should have an out of hours number and do an emergency home visit. It is surely best to be a concerned parent and act now rather than leave things too late.

My 22mth old clild was like that last week, only she wouldnt eat at all! She had a sore throat, antibiotics did the trick, once your daughter is drinking she is fine but if she stops drinking bring her straight to the hospital without delay as babies get dehydrated very quick and that is very dangerous. Give her Calpol and some Neurofen to keep her temp down and to ease her pain and mabe a cool bath, if she wont take the medicne give her a Paralink suppository they are the very same as calpol only it goes in the other end! She is only aloud 1 of those.
Good luck, and I hope she gets better very soon.

If she is listless, i wouldn't leave it until tommorrow, do you have an urgent care centre near you? Or if you phone your doctors surgery, they usually have an emergency doctors num on their answer machine. While you are waiting she can have baby paracetamol and baby ibuprofen together. But i would def get it checked out tonight, don't want to worry ya, but even if it's nothing, it will put your mind at rest. Good luck, I hope she gets better soon x

Give her infant IBPruefin for the fever if infant tylonol doesn't seem to work. Sometimes that works better than infant tylonol for fevers. If it's a fever around 103 or 104, try to get an after hours appointment for tonight.
Make sure the doc checks for strep.
Strep is going around...my 14 month old son just was diagnosed with it on Friday.

DON`T WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW
This could be so many things but, as she has had this for three days and still has a temperature I would`t hesitate to take her to A + E.
That's what they are there for.
Little ones can deteriorate very quickly or she may wake up bright as a button in the morning but, better be safe than sorry.

nhs direct website has a dianostic chart by elimination this might help. All I can say is wait and see what the doctor says tomorrow. If she gets worse in the night call an out of hours doctor. good luck

It sounds like some sort of fever with her temperature and behaviour being up and down. Lots of fluids and doctors tomorrow sounds like the sensible thing. When my daughter was about your daughter's age she had similar symptons and one day just seemed to collapse. I called an ambulance in a mad panic and she was taken in. It was simply her temperature that had caused her to collapse. I suppose their bodies deal with a high temperature differently than ours do and, of course, at that age they can't express themselves properly. My daughter is now 3 and can express herself very well indeed - I've got tummy ache is her classic and then she let's rip and exclaims that she's better! Kids!

Most of this advice is already been given.........
Just make sure she does not have any rashes or an adversion to light........
Call NHS direct if her temp reaches up to 100, just keep a close eye on her, it is probably just this bug going around
But just trust your own insticts, a mothers insticts are really strong don't delay in calling a doctor out or going to casualty, if you a not happy that it is just a bug.......its better to safe than sorry

it sounds like a virus but u never know with kids as long as she is drinking milk that will b filling her up if she has a temp give her some calpol and see if it helps but if u are really concerned take her 2 a&e or after hours doctors service. mothers know best and stick 2 ur intuition if u think she is worse dont wait till 2 moro. i hope she gets better soon.
