my daughter would like to throw a party, she's turning 16.
she's a little bit of a rebel so i told her that the party has to be at our house, and she said she would like to have a "rainbow party"... then she told me that she wants a whole box of lipstick for her birthday.

what sort of decorations do i have to buy for this? just different coloured streamers?

My daughter started sleeping thru the night at about 8 months, however, in the past month, she has started getting up 2-3 times a night ready to be taken out of her crib to play. We have tried taking away her naps (she just gets REALLY crabby), we have tried keeping her up later, everything we can think of. We have a great bedtime ritual and she has no problem falling asleep, she just cannot stay asleep. Any advice??

Sometimes i think it's wrong, a child must have both man and woman as parents in their lives. On the other hand, so many kids live in an orphanage and haven't got either of them... what's your opinion?

If some have chicken pox,
1) how long does it take for them to recover.
2) what medication should be taken. (the Person Say they went to the doc.)
3) How should others prevent from getting it?

And any other information you can give.....
Thanks

i am a newly single mom of two kids who i used to be so close to. i find myself avoiding them, self medicating daily, feeling depressed and guilty cuz i know they need me right now and i'm pulling away. im so ashamed. i used to be a really good mom. i am ruining them. and this knowledge only makes the urge to self medicate and isolate stronger. how do i STOP this destructive cycle and get back on track, re-connect with them?? i mentally beat myself up about this everyday. it consumes me.

I know every parent with a problem child now thinks there son/daughter has ADHD !!!

But our son ( we think ) has some sort of disorder ??

I got some great advice of people on here before ....(( our 20month old baby has uncontrolable fits (tantrums) that last HOURS !! and is aggressive...we are going mad ))

he seems to get pleasure from physically huting people or making them cry.

He will attack me , his 5yr old brother and my husband.

He is also waking 3-5 times a night screaming ( fits almost )
These can last for up too 4hours.
We have tried everything possible ( removing him , trying to calm him , mimiking him , tappiung his hand , explaining to him , all the usual stuff )

NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK AS HE IS GETTING WORSE EVERY DAY.

ANY ADVICE WILL BE GRATEFULLY REVIEVED AS WE ARE OUR WITS END !!!!!!!!!

Has anyone had a child share a room with you for a few years and then got a place to wear they will get their own room. How easy or difficult was it to transition them and what did you do that worked to help them.

I had to take my 2 year old to the ER. She needed stitches, she was playing by the door at a cafe and someone walked in and her finger got pinched. It was cut pretty bad and needed stitches. I can't seem to get over the gulit that she got hurt and that I was so close to her!
I turned my back for 2 min. to pay. I keep thinking of all the things I could have done different. How does one deal with the gulit?

I was just curious...I've seen a lot of suprising things on here and wanted to know what other stay at home moms do.

Is you home clean for the majority of the time? Why or why not?

Do you cook every night? Why or why not?

Do you take care of the finances?

What do you do (other then cook and clean all day...if you even do that) all day?

AND

Do you expect your husband to come home and clean? Of course help with dishes or evening stuff but do you expect him to tidy up the house--if it's not his mess?

More like angry. My husband and I are at the pharmacy- another couple with a two year old adorable little boy also were waiting. The boy is shining a cute smile at us- and I say Hi to him, mom snatches him up and slams him in a chair. He cries. Mom tells him to shut the F*** up or shes going to kick his teeth down his throat! IN PUBLIC!! The dad says NOTHING!! And shes pregnant! I wanted to snatch the kid from her and RUN!!

If you have children, tell their ages and how many times you cook and sit down to a dinner during a week. (and I don't mean you pop a frozen pizza in the oven)

I was reading an article recently that shared different parents' views on the holiday and why they did or did not participate. Some of the opinions were extremely polarized about Halloween and I'm just curious what people think about it. I personally let my child dress up, nothing scary or gross, I'm definitely against all the gore and blood, and then we go to a festival at our church. Do you let your child participate in Halloween activities, why or why not?
