The risk of complications to your baby are low if you have been taking birth control pills and find out you are pregnant. When I was 38 and had been on the Pill for 11 years, I got pregnant and did not know it until I was 17 weeks along. Of course, the day I found out I was pregnant, I did stop taking the Pill. My doctors were more concerned because I had also been on high blood pressure medication and migraine medication. I also developed Gestational Diabetes. I ended up a high risk diabetic patient. We had some problems with labor and delivery, but our youngest daughter is 9 now and she is perfectly fine and healthy.

If you stop taking it as soon as you find out your pregnant then there shouldn't be any problems. I've had 2 or 3 friends who were actually conceived while there mom's were on the pill. And they are all healthy.
