...I mean, I hear that you can never be fully prepared to have children. I also hear that they are the most precious and wonderful things on earth. Think about the financial obligation and how much time that we devote to our children. I am a sophomore in college and my wife is graduating with her MSW(Master's in Social Work).

I noticed this evening that my son has a raised pimple like rash over the trunk of his body. Some of them feel like they have a very tiny head though there are no blisters. I found a small bump on his wrist yesterday and he now has a few on his arms and legs also. Could it be the start of chickenpox? Also, if it is, what are the risks to his dad who has never had it?

I blink five times in a row when people just normally blink. When I'm in the car, I can't sit in some spots because the light from outside hits it differently in that spot and when it gets into my eyes my body starts to shake for a split second. This has happened all my life. It doesn't just happen in the car, it also happens basically when I'm doing anything. It's weird that I play video games but all the flashing lights don't bother my eyes. What's wrong with my eyes?

P.S. I'm only 13 so don't talk medically, you need to explain things in simpler terms.

I live in a very small town where I'm the only birth doula - and I doubt that many pregnant women in our area know what they do. For that matter, I doubt that most of the local OB/GYNs have worked with one either. Any ideas on the best way to introduce myself to the OB practices and find clients?

My husband is in school right now and I stay home with two kids ages 1 and 2. I also do adult foster care for a DD individual and earn some money for that. To say the least, my time is limited -- or at least interrupted quite frequently. I have tried to sell on Ebay, but after all the listing and paypal fees and the actual amount of time I put in, it was not financially worth it for me. (It could be I think if items were worth more that I was selling...) I am looking to try and supplement our income by about $1000 per month. Daycare would not work for me due to having the Developmentally Disabled individual with us -- he requires frequent transpotation to doctor visits, etc, and our car would not be big enough. I have also tried to cut our bills down, but it seems we still cannot make ends meet, and our credit card bills are ourtrageous! I also do not want to do the "party" type of selling like Mary Kay or Home Interiors. Any ideas, success stories, etc. would be appreciated!!

I just found out that I am pregnant (Yay!). Which I am thrilled to no end about. I called my family after I told my husband and he called his. Well his mother has called me everyday since asking how I was feeling and telling me to let her know when I wanted and we could go baby shopping, asking if she could go to doctors visits with me, telling me that she "gets atleast a day a week with the child, that would only be fair", and just being a down right pest.
I know she means well, and it doesn't help that my husband is the oldest of him and his only brother. But I am already tired of her and I hate to be b*thcy, but I want to look forward to this wonderful event without interference of an overly zealous inlaw.
Any suggestions on how I could deal with this without adding unnessisary stress?

I have a liver disease and the medicine to concieve is making it worse. i know I can adopt, but I am so tired of waiting. My 21 y/o unmarried sister had hers a week ago. It is so hard being supportive when she is so unready, but wants to keep it. I can't imagine any more pain in the world. I have no one who can/will have a surragate, and I am so tired of the cliche's. Does anyone know of a way I can have a baby today?

I'm 26 and my husband is 31. We've been married 3 years, together for almost 6. We live in a townhouse and live off his income and have a ton of savings (most of which is for a new home, but we have not been able to find one due to inflated prices here). We have a good relationship are well-educated, ect. Our current plan is to wait over 3 more years to ttc, so I'll have the baby at 30. We have not lived a wild life or traveled much and it does not feel like we have something to look back onto as we move forward into being parents. However, I'm career-less at the moment and am feeling very unfulfilled. I know it's selfish, but I'm bored and I have a lot to offer a baby. I don't have babyfever. I used to when I was younger, but my husband wasn't ready and it went away. He says he's ready now. I want to lose some weight and get in shape, but after that should I just go for it? Or should we wait out the original 3.5 more years until we ttc? The plan was to wait for a house and to travel.
