There really isn't a limit for safe birth. It is assumed that mothers over 35 are at a higher risk of birth problems, in the theory that the eggs aren't as high of quality as earlier eggs. But, this doesn't mean AT ALL that mothers cannot have healthy babies after 35, and many women strongly resent the label the doctors place on them after 35.
A woman can safely give birth at any time in her life that she is pregnant, so long as precautions are taken to keep the pregnancy as low risk as possible.

No age limit on the high end as long as you are able to get pregnant.
Increase factors of Type I Diabetes in Children whom's mothers birth age steadily and markedly increases beginning at age 35!
Increased still births to age 44!
Though the odds are you can give safe birth at ages to 50 or more, the factors for child diabetes issues, Type I, (which is severe) are significant, as they are at age 40!
I wouldn't push it past 44 and would probably not at 39 due to significant child issues there and beyond!
Menopause will take care of the rest usually!

after the age of 35, it's considered advanced maternal age-you have a higher chance of giving birth to a baby with birth defects. It's an average, you don't suddenly have a baby with birth defects the day you turn 35. You can also have a baby with defects at any age. They will do more screening. Women can get pregnant up until menopause, sometimes later with invitro-although that is very controversial.

If it is your first child the age of first pregnancy is advancing.
The best recommendation coming out of the medical community is 35-40 now. Later then that the chances of birth defects rises with age if it is a first birth, if a woman has a child at 32 she can often continue to have healthy children until the onset of menapause.

There really isn't a set age limit. They caution women over 40 to be careful because of chromosomal abnormalities but that doesn't mean that they can't give birth to a healthy baby. The incidence of things like down syndrome increases with age. That doesn't mean that it will happen though.

Women in their 40's give birth as well. I have 5 friends who all had children between the ages of 38-42 and all children are healthy.

i've never heard of there being an actual age limit, but i do know that as you get older it becomes more risky. i think it depends mostly on each individual person. my mother gave birth to my youngest sister when she was 42 and everything went well and she was born naturally and healthy

umm i kinda always thought that like when a woman stops her period then like she cant have kids....i mean then again it all depends on the womans body and the shape shes in. if ur like in the shape my aunt is in then definitely you can pop out at least like three more kids. and shes 40. but if ur not in great shape and have bad bladder promblems or something to do with that lower area then no i wouldnt say its that safe to have children. it all comes down to ur health and age i guess. i knew my friends grandma was almost in her seventies and she had a kid.....that was the last one though...
