My husband is in school right now and I stay home with two kids ages 1 and 2. I also do adult foster care for a DD individual and earn some money for that. To say the least, my time is limited -- or at least interrupted quite frequently. I have tried to sell on Ebay, but after all the listing and paypal fees and the actual amount of time I put in, it was not financially worth it for me. (It could be I think if items were worth more that I was selling...) I am looking to try and supplement our income by about $1000 per month. Daycare would not work for me due to having the Developmentally Disabled individual with us -- he requires frequent transpotation to doctor visits, etc, and our car would not be big enough. I have also tried to cut our bills down, but it seems we still cannot make ends meet, and our credit card bills are ourtrageous! I also do not want to do the "party" type of selling like Mary Kay or Home Interiors. Any ideas, success stories, etc. would be appreciated!!

I was fortunate to have a good friend get me some PT contract work for her company during my last trimester. I would work my 8-hour FT job, come home, and do 2-4 hours tech writing from my living room. It helped get me in the door, so that after I had my baby, I could quit my FT office job and work from home FT as a technical writer.
If tech writing is not your forte, then check out www.chacha.com. They have work-from-home opportunities and were featured on Good Morning America. Also take a look at www.wahm.com - it's a website for work-at-home mom's and it has some pretty good leads.

Good luck and congrats!

If you do not want to do "parties" Avon is a great item to sell. I am currently a representitive but also have a 2 and 3 yr old, plus having my 3rd on the 5th of this month. I have not put a lot of effort into it, so have not gotten far. It is really a door to door thing, unless you know a lot of people that are already interested in buying the product. I plan on putting much more effort into the adventure after the baby, plus we have monthly meetings for all avon representitives in town to talk about advertising ideas and group things we can do to get our name out. I live in a small town, and although gossip gets through the lines great, things like Avon is considered a "lower 48" product, which no one believes we actually sell, lol. Anyway, it costs an initial $10-15 for start up, then every two weeks you have to buy your books, $5.75 for the first 10, and then it goes up in small incruments from there. I once purchased 100 books for $22.30.

The only drawback for me right now is I spend more money than my friends do on their products, lol, but I get a great price break

you might try flea markets
but you need things to sell there too, you are between a rock and a hard place. Have you talked to the churches? Sometimes, they help too.
Next is a miracle ! And only God can grant you that. Don't give up, he is listening, and who knows, this just may be a test he is giving you. I know you can pass it. Blessed Be

Ebay is worth it if you know what you are doing. Incorporate your costs into your starting price and try to sell in lots instead of one small item.
