...but we want to be prepared. What does that mean to you? What did you do as a couple to prepare?

You can never really be too prepared. Just make sure that you and your husband have a loving relationship (not always fighting or things like that). A baby will bring on more stress in your life if you don't get along. Also, make sure you are financialy ready. When you are ready, you will know because there won't even be a question about it. You just decide without question. Good luck!

When I look back, we did little to nothing. We thought that buying the crib, clothes, diapers, bottles, everything you could think of, was enough!!! How naive! What you should really do to prepare is... go to work after 4 hours of sleep...but 4 nonconsecutive hours for a couple of weeks. Make yourself so busy that you don't have time for a shower. Basically, sleep deprivation will become a way of life, and you have NO IDEA what that means until you have a newborn...with colic!! Good luck!

Well I got prepared just as the stick turned pink :) You are never really truly prepared for a baby and i would say that you could go aheah and be buying things like a crib and stuff but then that might jinks it. I really dont know what to say except that once that baby is here, its the most wonderful thing in the world

A good idea is to borrow someone else's baby for a night. This will give you an idea of how much work it is, plus the parents would love to have a night out!!!
