How do you monitor whether or not they are getting enough iron and nutrients you would get from meats? I am a vegetarian and would like my son to be, but am guessing I should wait until he is a bit older? He is 6 months old.

My son has problems pooping and during a good week either goes once a day or every other day. Is this not enough? I can't imagine him pooping that much. Every once and a while after he's been constipated for a while he will 2-3 times, but not regularly.

Something that would make a good christmas gift clothing-wise that is practical. I was thinking blanket sleepers and onesies. Anything else?

I see all these moms talking about co-sleeping.

How is it done. Obviously, you sleep "together" but does baby sleep beside you? Do you have one of those bed side co-sleepers? Do you keep pillows in your bed? What about "intiminate" time?

I am totally clueless when it comes to this! So, fill my brain with this knoweledge!

My son is 9 months today but he started walking at exactly 7-1/2 months and I was wondering if that means he is going to be smart forever or is he just advanced. My family always says that he's the little genuis but I think that he's just a little more advance in that area.

Have any mother had their child walk early and seen a difference in them as toddler and grade school age?

My 4-month-old hasn't yet rolled over at all. She really doesn't show interest or look like she's getting close. I was reading about the 4-month milestones, and noticed rolling from front to back is one of them. She has done all the other milestones, she just hasn't done this yet. I know all baby's develop differently, but I wanted to hear from some mom's if any of their babies weren't rolling over at this age. (We go to the doc for her checkup on Monday, so I will be asking him all of this then.)

He has been very good at going down to sleep since he was about 9 weeks old and sleeps through the night. Lately he is getting really upset as soon as I leave the room. I've tried sitting in the room next to his cot but he just rolls around and tries to climb up the spars. I've tried gradually moving back and back until he cannot see me then when I sneak out he realises and then starts to cry. I've tried going up every 5 mins to put him back on his back and give him his dummy (which falls out the cot with his crying) and he still cries. When he eventually falls asleep he usually sleeps through the night. This unsettling started when he had a cold but he is over this now. What can I do? Please help!

my son just turned 9 months old. He's 30 in. and nearly 23 lbs. So he's a big boy. But he does not crawl. He rocks on his hands and knees but that's it. He has trouble going from lying down to sitting up. He sits well, he pulls himself to his knees on things. He can hold onto the couch and stand and walk around the couch a little while holding on. He can feed himself, drink from a cup, looks at us, says mom and dad and waves, plays peek a boo uses his hands well. He hugs and kisses, recognizes people he knows, smiles and laughs alot. He looks for things when he drops them. Points when he wants something, recognizes music and dances to it. He babbles alot and tries to imitate animal noises. My doctor says hes slow for his age and wants him to be evaluated. I don't think there's anything wrong with him. Yes, he doesn't crawl, but lots don't. what do you guys think?

I give my 6 kids milk @ 9 mo and no more formula. My doc says its fine. My friend asked her doc too and he agreed. thought I would tell you this so you can ask your doc. With formula cans being possibly toxic and so much kid stuff recalled its something I thought I would share.

vaccines, formula cans, toys.

You would think the standard for anything related to baby would be high.

At the pediatrician's office yesterday, the doctor said to be careful feeding my daughter too much as she may be a little on the overweight side. He said that it wasn't an issue now but that if we didn't "get it under control" now that we may have an overweight child. He said that compared to where she was born at that she may be getting too big too fast. My daughter was born exactly a week before her due date ... so earlier than some, but not pre-mature.

My 2 month old is 11lbs10oz and 22inches long. Her weight is in 73 percentile and her height in the 46th.

At 1 month, she was 9lbs8oz and 20.5inches. Weight was 60th percentile, height was 38th.

At birth, she was 7lbs6oz and 18.5inches. Weight was 45 percentile, heigh was 20th.

I feel weird limiting her feedings. I was told that babies will stop eating when they're not hungry. Should I restrict her food intake or is this a healthy growing pattern? This is my first baby. And I was a big baby when I was little

I hear moms saying that a baby is 12 weeks old instead of saying 3 months, or 24 months instead of 2 years. What's the magic number of weeks/months till they're months and years old?
