My 4-month-old hasn't yet rolled over at all. She really doesn't show interest or look like she's getting close. I was reading about the 4-month milestones, and noticed rolling from front to back is one of them. She has done all the other milestones, she just hasn't done this yet. I know all baby's develop differently, but I wanted to hear from some mom's if any of their babies weren't rolling over at this age. (We go to the doc for her checkup on Monday, so I will be asking him all of this then.)

In former times, babies rolled over from front to back before they rolled from back to front, usually between three to four months. Since the "Back to Sleep" program, many babies delay rolling over, and may roll over back to front first.

There is nothing wrong with an AWAKE infant being on her stomach. The baby will naturally begin to push up, lift up on her shoulders, and eventually roll over. Babies need "tummy time."

I think you will be relieved by what your doctor says on Monday.

As long as she is reaching other milestones, she should be fine. The Doc will let you know what she should be doing by now and when to be concerned. It might help to get a book about your baby's first year, with a month-to-month guide on how she should be progressing.
My #2 guy didn't roll over or sit on his own at the age most babies do. He also didn't walk until after he turned 1 (I had visions of having to carry him up to the podium to get his diploma!) He's 6 now, and just fine, he's just REALLY STUBBORN.

Try getting the baby to roll over while on your bed. My son would only roll over on very soft surfaces.

Also babies don't have to meet EVERY milestone on "time" just most of them.

My son did not roll over until the day he turned 6 months. By the time he was 10 months he was walking. All kids are different. She will get there in her own time ;)

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Was she premature? That can effect milestones. You're doctor will let you know if you have to worry, but I wouldn't be, especially since she's met all the other milestones.

Don't worry about it. If she is held a lot, she probably just hasn't had as much opportunity to learn or parctice that skill.

Try putting her on her tummy, and teaching her how to roll over.

My son didn't roll until he was 6 months old. Don't worry give it time. Every little one is different, so don't rush her. She'll know when she's ready.
