Very normal. Their nervous system is still immature right now. As the days move on you will see less of it. Congrates.

Edited: Twitching in a newborn is normal again this is due to a developing NEUROLOGICAL SYSTEM, just like their digestive system is still working out it's kinks as well. Twitching can be signs & symptoms of other disorder's, however, agin due to the baby's age I highly doubt this is the case. Monitor the symptoms, like the frequency & duration. If you should suspect something more than call your MD.

Yes mom it is normal If your child were born a bit too early it could be worse..You see they feel their nerve endings. And my personal belief is that the more skin they grow the less they feel it..
Do not think it is uncomfortable feeling for the babes it is just an awareness like a tickle for us. They just react Just like you react when someone nibbles your neck....lol have great fun with your baby...This should calm down on a daily basis.... It won't be long. If it is more than 6 weeks investigate.....

Very normal. My one year old still does it in her sleep, she's outgrown doing it during her waking hours a long while ago, though. However... if it involves one or two parts of the body only, if it's regular - instead of it just being random/various places... you'd better see a doctor.

How long has it been going on? Anytime you are unsure about something with a newborn, it's better to call the dr. and it turn out to be nothing than to not call and have a problem.

I always thought that mine were dreaming and they would kind of twitch a little.

All my kids did that, their leg would shake own its own. My 2mth son's leg stopped doing this about 2 weeks ago. It's very normal.

They are getting adjusted to hearing noises outside the womb. It is normal. It will probably stop once they get used to the louder sounds.

Yes, to an extent. They and their nervous systems are getting used to their new world. Be sure to ask the pediatrician at your next visit, or call them to ease your mind.
