Why so many recalls on things pertaining to our kids?

vaccines, formula cans, toys.

You would think the standard for anything related to baby would be high.

Lots of things should be recalled.. that isn't kid related.

But you usually only hear about stuff for "kids" because of the standards that we have in place in our country... true its not enough but at least it is something.

You'd think, but that's not the case. This society is all about money making. Not what is safe. They run brief tests and say, ok good to go, but they really need to spend more time on them in all actuality. It's scary. I barely even trust baby food anymore. So, I decided to nurse once my son was born and forego vaccines, because of the exact reasons of the recent recalls. We would never really "know" if something is safe, just because they say so. And they aren't going to start a mass-scare about the vaccinations and outright tell people that the recall is dangerous...then we'd have people questioning things everywhere and then they'd start losing money. It's all a money, power trip. It's scary, but sad.

Standards are there. Testing isnt. Kind of like gun control. The laws are there on murdering people, people still get murdered by guns.

Our government also has a budget. When money goes to one thing it takes away from the other such as the FDA.

Companies also have a goal on making money and some cut corners. As a consumer you have tremendous power to buy only what you support and from companies you "trust" and this may include how and where they manufacture things.
