My son is twelve weeks old and has laryngomalacia. My husband and I are so worried about it although the doctor says he will grow out of it. Does anyone have any tips on how to help him?

My son was born with this. He is a year and has outgrown it. Other than hearing the sound now and then we would never have known he had it. Our pediatrician kept a very close eye on it but told us it was nothing to worry about. There are severe cases out there but they would have told you if you had that, and then would need surgery. There isn't anything you can do to improve it but give it time. Like I said my little guy is one of the happiest babies and very healthy.

My daughter had tracheamalacia, which is very similar. It just means that the trachea (or in your case larynex) isn't completely developed. He'll grow out of it. My daughter stopped having "symptoms" at six months old, but we were told it would take 6 months to 2 years. Just don't worry about it too much. If he seems to be more uncomfortable laying flat, let him sleep in his carseat or swing for a while.

I don't have a child, and it doesn't have laryngomalacia

I think your question should be something like "tips on how to help a child with laryngomalacia"

It's kind of long, but you get the point

Wow I had to look that up to figure out what it was!

K look for a second opinion before you need surgery. It is better to be safe than sorry.
