My newborn keeps waking us up everytime her pacifier falls out of her mouth. Is there any tricks to keep it in her mouth? She is a breastfed baby... if that helps anything.

If you were breastfed do you think you are so smart?
(People claim on here that breastfeeding makes a kid so smart and that formula is robbing a kid of that which i do not believe for one second)

If you were breastfed please tell me what you do for a living since "some people" claim a kids IQ is so high when they are breastfed.

I am trying to find a bassinet for our baby due in eight weeks. We have a very limited budget. So I am trying to keep it under about $60 or really even less because we really don't have that much!

We only have a two bedroom apartment and I don't want to put a newborn in our two year old's (Ally) bedroom. Not only do I not know HOW she will act around a baby but I don't think it would be fair to her when the baby doesn't sleep through the night. So the baby will be in our room for a little while and we don't have much room in there either for even a full size crib. We are keeping our daughter's crib in storage but we just can't use it right now.

Anything you can recommend online (for me to see) will be helpful. I honestly have no idea what I am looking for. We didn't use a bassinet with Ally. Well, we had a little travel one that someone gave us, but we gave it away when she grew out of it.

Thanks!!!!

I have month-old twin boys and have had some difficulty getting them latched on properly. This evening, I had stinging pain when one of the babies latched on and saw afterwards that my nipple is bleeding in a couple of spots.

I think I know how to correct the latch problem. My question is, should I keep trying to breast feed in spite of the pain from the hurt nipple, or should I try to take some time off (a day or so) and give bottles? Is there anything I can do to reduce the pain while nursing? Will nursing make healing take longer, or will it make a difference?

Any advice is appreciated!

Hi..
I have been using a cool mist humidifier in my 14 month old sons room and I feel its making the room quite cold...the room is drafty to begin with, and in the winter this humidifier is making the air even more cold in his room. I am almost tempted to go in for a warm mist humidifier. Is that a good idea? Also, does anyone know of a good brand that works?

I am using the humidifier because I feel the heater i in the house is making the air very dry and many times my son has a little blood in his mucous because of that. But the cold of the humidifier bothers me.

Any suggestuions to make my son more comfortable? I too can feel my nose stuffy and dry so it must be hard for my son.

Please help.

when is a baby fully developed as far as lungs, ect. I'm almost 36 weeks and my doc said at my 35 week appt. the rest of the time is my baby just gaining weight. So...does that mean he is fully developed by 37 weeks...? Since full term is considered 37 weeks and on...I know all babies develope too at different rates, because my SIL had her baby at 36 weeks and she was 7lb 14oz...big girl!

I have a six month old who sleeps with us. All three of us agree to that arrangement.
I breastfeed and he stirs quite often and goes back to sleep with a boobie. We refuse to "let him cry", it just seems cruel to us. But some nights he seems to nurse all night and I don't get any sleep.
Any moms experience this? How did he sleep on his own? We decided that he would move to his crib (naptime is the crib) at night when he is a year old, since that is when I plan to quit breast feeding, I don't think I can last another full year (when he is 18 months).

I heard somewhere that they're pointless and babies don't need to constantly be sucking on something. Is this true? What are they for?

I started only breastfeeding her on one side because I had too much milk and she would choke so I read on Breastfeeding.com to only let her eat on one side for each feeding.
If the spotting is caused by not breastfeeding as much (using both sides) if I pump the other side after she is done or in between feedings will I stop spotting? Am I going to start getting my period? and if so, Is my milk going to dry up? I heard that you do not get your period until you stop breastfeeding. I do not want to EVER use formula. Please Help! Thank you in advance!

Also, my baby is 10 weeks old today and is growing very well. She was 7 lbs 2.2 ounces and 19 1/2 inches when she was born and is now 12.5 lbs and 24 inches at 10 weeks. She also uses a pacifer.

I co-sleep with my 2 1/2 month old daughter and plan to continue this until she no longer needs to nurse at night. Yet, I realize I am inadvertently teaching her to depend on me to fall asleep at night.

If you had a smooth transition from co-sleeping to crib, how did you do it?

If it wasn't a smooth transition, what would you have done differently?

I am a mother of a 7 month old boy. My friend has a boy that is 13 months old. We are closer than ever before since we now both have boys around the same age. We do a lot of things together and we bring our boys with us everywhere we go. My friend is a pretty mellow woman and I have always known her to be that way. However, I've noticed her talking a lot about her son's "manhood" lately and it's starting to bother me. She tells pretty much anyone who asks about her son that he is very well endowed. She's not modest about it at all. She always says things like "when my son was born the nurses said that we won't have any problems with the ladies" and "I was shocked when I first saw it, I thought it was the umbilical cord." I'm pretty liberal but I think she needs to give this a rest. If you talk about how chubby his butt is or how big his head is then that's another story. My son was not blessed the way her son was and I don't want my son growing up listening to her inappropriate comment
