My little girl is 3 mos old and has been constipated for about a week. She is strictly on formula (enfimil prosobee) What can I do for her at such a young age?

My doctor's nurse called today to remind me to schedule the 6 week appointment for me (mommy) today. My baby's already 8 weeks old today, I feel fine, I've gotten my period again, and I don't see any concern. The delivery was a normal, induced, vaginal delivery with a few stitches.

So, how important is this appointment? What do they check? Do they take a blood test or anything?

My main concern is that I don't want to pay a couple hundred dollars for a lousy 5 min checkup. If it's really important, I'll go, but I've got enough medical bills from the delivery and I don't want to make more.

I had a c-section 5 weeks ago, and my husband hasn't wanted it, but I do. We have a very content son, he was on a good schedual right out of the womb, so it isn't so much about being tired. What do I do to get us back on track?

One of my co-workers is in terrible straits, being without financial means to pay some of her bills.
Does anyone know of some resource organizations they can contact? Any suggestions are welcome.

My daughter was born October 19th and on the 20th h started having seizures and was sent to NICU,she is still in the NICU and every test they have run on her has come back negative, she has no infections and the brain scans all came back normal, but they still cannnot figure out why she has these little seizures.I have heard it is fairly common in newborns and they tend to grow out of it,She is on a theraputic dose of phenobarbitol and that seems to be working well for her,yet they cant tell me why they are happening or when she can get released. Please help!

I love my MIL, but every time she watches my son (15 mos.), w/in 24 hrs, he has blisters and horrible diaper rash! She's diabetic & eats sugar-free foods. She mentions giving my kids 'snacks' (which are ok by me, but I've noticed all are sugar-free), but when I pick them up, my daughter (7) complains about her stomach hurting & my son's butt looks horrible! I can usually clear it up w/baking soda and Lanolin overnight, but would the sugar-substitues be causing this issue? I've researched it online & see it does cause GI problems - but someone else? I believe in my kids eating healthy, but enjoying too - so I don't feed them fat-free, low cal, sugar free stuff - heck, they're kids! And, I do a lot of cooking so they don't eat a lot of chemically altered/processed food. Maybe their systems aren't used to it? Just some insight b/c my poor son's butt can't handle this anymore!

Ok this is embareassing but I have to ask because I am quite concerned.....Yesterday my husband and I made love for the first time after 2months (since our baby was born) I was embareassed because I thought I would feel the same "down there" but I didnt.....Its not exactly "loose" down there but its not as "tight" as it was before I had my baby.....I want that "tightness" feeling again, and I was reading that Kegel excercises help tighten that area....the problem is I dont understand how they are done? Can someone please explain this to me? I also read that they can be done while sitting?...Sorry for my ignorance....Thank you for your answers..

Ok, Im a mother of 3 little ones. My 11 month old daughter is totally healthy and developing wonderfully. I know they say to hold off on cows milk til 12 months, but is that 1 month really that big of a deal? I really am looking for responces from people who have given milk earlier than one. Not just people telling me they HAVE to be one. So if you've done let me know how it went please. Thank You!

Hi ladies! I was thinking of registering for one of these, but first I want to know if any overweight ladies out there have had success with them? The description reads that they "adjustable to fit any size", but I was wondering how they have worked for plus-sized women.

Thanks!

Does anyone know what these hiccups could be caused from? How can I help him get rid of them or lessen them? He gets so upset. I feel so bad. :(

My son turns 4 months today. We tried giving him cereal last weekend, but it gave him really bad gas, and we were up all night with a tummy ache.
Should we wait longer?

I keep hearing that the milk doesn't come down until 3-5 days. What if my baby is hungry and I don't want to give him formula? Will the liquid that comes out (sorry I'm not sure how to spell it) before the milk suffice until then? Thanks!

This is a nasal aspirator thing from Sweden not yet sold by retail in the US. People swear by it for clearing babies and toddlers nasal congestion. You can order online but apparently some pediatricians offices are carrying it. I'd like one right away, any help is appreciated!

Recently our 4-week old son has started sleeping (or not sleeping) sporatically. He will sleep about an hour at a time and then awake for an hour or two. He did this all day long yesterday. He woke up when we were ready for bed last night then he was up until 2:00 am. Then awake again at 3:00 am, back to sleep at 4:00 am. Up at 5:00 am until 7:00 am then back to sleep. He just started doing this on Sunday. He was fussy most of the day Sunday and gassy. We treated it with an over the counter medicine for gas in babies and it helped but now he has adopted these weird sleep patterns.

Any suggestions about what might be causing this? Outside of the fact that we are exhausted and really want our baby to sleep, do we have reason to be concerned?

My son, nearly 7 months, has red dots around his eyes, mostly in the morning. Doctor said it was just an irritation and not to worry too much about it. Today its the worst I've seen. Anyone know what this could be? Could it be allergies; an infection?
