My daughter was born October 19th and on the 20th h started having seizures and was sent to NICU,she is still in the NICU and every test they have run on her has come back negative, she has no infections and the brain scans all came back normal, but they still cannnot figure out why she has these little seizures.I have heard it is fairly common in newborns and they tend to grow out of it,She is on a theraputic dose of phenobarbitol and that seems to be working well for her,yet they cant tell me why they are happening or when she can get released. Please help!

Some babies systems react to stimulus by having seizures. Just the stress of being born can be enough.

If all her scans are coming back normal, I wouldnt worry too much about it. I know its hard not to, but they honestly do out grow it.

I think I would have refused the barbitol. That stuff is a quagmire of side effects, not to mention its hard to wean them off it.
BUT it seems like all is well. Once they have seen her in good health, and ruled out any possible cause, they will release her. Its been 3 days, I imagine in a couple more they will send her home, so long as she's not having more or worse ones.

probably allergic to VACCINES !!! Dont give her anymore or she could die or get brain damaged (like Autism!!!) alot of SIDS is considered to be caused by Vaccinations and they have anti biotics to treat these diseases now and your child is PROBABLY one of the ones ALLERGIC to the Vaccines ... they gave me convulsions and put my sister in law and grandfather in law into comas !!!
