Just wondering if anyone actually tried this, or seen anyone do this succesfully ?? researching mothers/ wives tales & if they work. Please give as much info as possible such as, how they made the smell stay on clothes/ if they were breastfeeding/what actually happened with the child. THANKS so much for helping !

with my son i had gotten a baby blanket or a cuddle blanket as a gift and the weeks before i had him i sleep with it stuffed in my bra, and when i would put him down i would give it to him. by 2 months he was sleeping though the night, and at four months he was in his crib. he's 22 months now and only wants it to sleep. i think it was a great help. of course it has been washed like a million times now, but he's just so use to sleeping with it it don't matter that it don't smell like me anymore.

My son was about 7 months old when we left him with his grandparents for about 4 days. I left a blanket I used every day and he would snuggle into it at night before bed.

Im sure when a baby is young (newborn) that it would most likely help too. I know having baby sleep in my bed for naps helped him settle down more than putting him in his crib when he was colicky or not feeling well.

u can actually use anything, for my daughter i used to use a shirt that i had worn. she was very attached and this was one thing that i did to git some freedom for like 10 mintues or so. its not an old wives tale its true children noe there mothers scent and it also conforts them.

My mother had this problem with my little sister. We had to have something that smelled like my mom when it was bottle time. My mother was going to college so my grandmother would watch us.
Now with my daughter, she was a daddy's girl and when he was away at work I had to cover her with something of his so she would go to sleep when I rocked her.
