My 6 month old has started this new thing where when he gets mad he holds his breath and starts pushing against anything in his way. His whole face turns red and he holds his breath until he can't anymore, then he takes a breath and continues to do this until he gets what he wants. Is this normal?? Has anyone else had a baby do this? Is it too early to do anything as far as disiplining him? Im not going to spank him too hard or anything but, how about a slap on the hand?? I dont know how to get him to stop. Is it a faze? Its crazy...

My baby is almost 9 months old. Should I be feeding her more than just baby food and formula? I hear about all these different table foods people are feeding their babies and I'm so afraid she will choke on that stuff. How long should I continue to feed her baby food before I go to only table food? Right now I feed her about 2 jars of stage 2 food and about 25 oz. of formula a day.

did your baby wear right after it was born. what did it wear at the hospital? did you dress it up or just normal clothes to come home in. I'm having a baby and would like to get a general idea of the type of clothing i should have for the baby to wear for the first couple of weeks. i have some of those sac outfits with the open bottom but what else should i get and what should i bring to the hospital for the baby to come home in? do i need to bring a newborn outfit and a preemie outfit to see what will fit better? what did you dress them in for the hospital picture? does the hospital put them in an outfit right after they are born or do i need one for that too? thanks for your help this is my first baby.

My son is 11 months old. He is super hyper. He doesn't even want to eat. He struggles with me to breastfeed. It takes over 1 hour now of pure hell to get him to eat. He kicks, screams, arches to get down onto the floor and crawl. I end up having to pump 6-12X per day the extra ounce or so he leaves in there. He won't hold still to even accept a bottle. It takes him an hour sometimes to drink a bottle. We have to chase him around with it. He was on breastmilk plus 2-3 bottles of lacto-free similac daily. He will eat little things like goldfish crackers, fries, bread, etc... But he struggles eating anything else like rice cereals basically anything he has to pay attention or sit still to eat.

His father has ADD but isn't on medication for it so it runs in his family line. I am wondering if he has some form of the hyper disorder. He also cries a lot, he is very needy. We can't get him to not sleep with us. He also only sleeps about 4-6 hours a day and is up and going for the rest.

He's only a week old, and his pediatrician says everything checks out fine.
But he sometimes exhibits some of the same hand and head movements of children who are deemed mentally retarded or severely autistic.
Now, it may be that he's just "doing what babies do," and those movements may look similar because those older children simply don't move past that "infant-like" stage of development, so I'm hoping I'm just being paranoid.
But I'm wondering if anyone might know of some warning signs.
Thank you.

It dosn't seem to create a tight enough seal. I decided to express by hand but I can't seem to get that going good either. When I try some of it squirts out but most of it just trickles down my breast in turn missing the bottle. Does anyone have any helpful hints for expressing my milk? I don't want to put my daughter on formula yet and I am leaving her for about 5 hours tomorrow for the first time. She is 5 weeks and I don't want to introduce formula unless absolutely necessary. Any help would be appreciated.

I gave birth 3 weeks and 2 days ago and I am still in pain. Is this normal or should the pain have stopped by now? I got to my 30 day check up in about a week.

We live in a motel and I am thinking about getting a co sleeper for our baby. Which ones are the best? We obviously don't have a lot of room so I don't want a huge crib - But I want something safe, preferably the co sleeper that is attached to the side of the bed. Are there any that I can use for up to a year - we are saving a lot of money and we are going to move back to my home someday. Does anybody have any advice or experience that can help me out?

My daughter will be 9 months in two weeks. She started sleeping through the night at about 8 weeks. At about 4 months, she began crying for a bottle in the middle of the night. She doesn't actually wake up unless I don't answer her need fairly soon, but she cries very loudly in a plaintive way. She sucks down the bottle and then puts her pacifier back in her mouth and sleeps the rest of the night.

I'm not so bothered about getting up in the middle of the night, but I'm afraid it is going to ruin her teeth. She only has two on the bottom, but she has had them for about 3 months so I'm expecting the top ones pretty soon. My husband thinks the bottom ones are already yellow, but I think he's imagining it. However, I know the sugars in the milk will eventually damage her teeth.

What can I do? She is obviously very hungry. I've tried giving her just water, but she rejects it. I've tried feeding her a lot of rice cereal before she goes to bed, but she still cries for that bottle.

I've heard of sudden heart failures for this position. I also heard the plus side is that their chest muscles grow stronger because they have to lift their head to change positions (facing left and right). You see, my baby brother was born in the US and he was immediately placed to sleep face down. I remember pictures of in an incubator (yellow fever) upon birth and he was chest down.
