Yes, exclusive breastfeeding is the best option to feed your baby. The World Health Organization list this as the best source of nutrition for babies:
1) Mothers Breast Milk
2) Breast milk from Wet Nurse
3) Expressed breastmilk
4) Formula

Aside from the perspective of formula milk producers, in every other way, yes exclusive breastfeeding is certainly the best option for your baby's health. You can provide the breastmilk expressed in bottles (and pump) if you want more flexibility, but otherwise the breastmilk is invaluable for your baby, and substituting formula or anything else -- even for only some of the feeds -- won't be as ideal.

Yes. Breast milk is the most natural nutrient you can feed an infant. You don't have to worry about allergies, sterilization, refrigeration, spoilage (except for pumped and stored human milk). It has the proper proportions of fat, protein and carbohydrates. Minerals and vitamins, too, if mom is on a good diet. Vitamin D is the only necessary supplement.

If you don't have the option - say you have to return to work - modern formulas are fine. But breast is best.

I have 4 children and breast feeding was the most rewarding, awesome experience I ever had. The 1st three went from boobs to sippycups and the 4th only used a bottle (I used a breast pump) for about 6 months. They did not use pacifiers or suck their thumbs. There is no better option but lots of choices.

Health wise, absolutly better for the baby. Personally I exclusively bf my son for 13 months. He never had formula. It seems difficult at first, but compared to what my friends went through with formula, it was waaaaaay easier. The bond it creates is something you just can't get with a bottle- no matter what others tell you. I pumped and used a bottle just 3 times, my son didn't really like it. It is easy to train a child to use both though if you need to pump.

Absolutely. It's better for the health of mom and baby, better for bonding between the mom and baby, and will save $1000-2000 over the course of the first year.

They say breast is best for the first 6 months.

But there's so many horror stories about women getting asked by police to stop breast feeding in public (even when they're not showing anything and are covered suitably) or women being asked to feed their babies in cafe toilets, that I find it hard to understand what is best.
If breast is best, then they need to work on laws to allow women to discreetly breast feed in public.

Yes, our daughter was exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months until we introduced baby veggies. She is now 11 months and has only been sick one time.
