I gave birth 3 weeks and 2 days ago and I am still in pain. Is this normal or should the pain have stopped by now? I got to my 30 day check up in about a week.

I am having pains all the time. If you have ever had a child it is the pain you are in after you give birth thats the kind of pain im in. Yes it is my first child. No tearing and it was a vaginal birth. Could the pain be caused because of my age (14 years old) or does age not matter?

I didn't stop being in pain until about 3 weeks after I gave birth. I gave birth naturally and tore. Even still, every once in a while I'll feel a little bit of soreness, and my baby is now 2 months. I would say that every woman is different and it all depends on how sensitive you are and your level of pain tolerance, but definitely listen to your body. If you feel the need to see a doctor before your appointment then you should go. Good luck and Congratulations

I'm not sure what kind of pain you are talking about. I wasn't in pain and I had an episiotomy and 4th degree tears (a lot of stitches). I was uncomfortable at times, but no pain. I had a 2-week check up. Call your doctor if you need to know for sure if this is normal or not. Congrats on your new baby!

well.. i've heard of most women with normal vaginal birth and no complications being fairly healed after 2 weeks ..

but just as every baby is different, so is every mommy

Personally, i had a broken tailbone, that didn't stop hurting untill 3 months postpartum.. I had inside and outside stiches that didn't fuly heal untill now ( 4 months ) ..

So i'm sure you'll get your answer from your doc as they do an exam at your check up. Good Luck, hope all is well

I had pain for 4 weeks. It wasn't anything even close to unbearable but there was still a dull pain "down there". I also tore and required 3 stitches though so I'm not sure if this had anything to do with it. Are you making sure to keep it clean? If you notice any pus it might mean an infection.

More info is needed:

What kind of pain? - pain during urination, cramping pains, is this your first child? Are you breast feeding?

What kind of birth? c-section or vaginal; tears or epsiotomy?

It could be after pains, or it could be an infection. If you are concerned call you doctor.

With me, the pain stopped after about a week. I didn't have any tears though. If you do, that might slow the healing process.

I would call the doctor though if its already been 3 weeks and you aren't feeling better!

well the pain should have gone away by now.I had my Son when I was 15 and I recovered very quickly.I would suggest going to the Dr before your regular check up if you are in that much pain.
