My HV has just been and noticed my 2 wk old has talipes/club foot.

Has any one got any experiences of this or advice?

is it a fixed talipes? if your HV has only just noticed it then it more than likely isn't a fixed talipes. my daughter had a fixed talipes (she still has) she is 5 now and they noticed her club foot at my 20 week scan. the difference with a fixed talipes is that it is the bones that are bent and not just the muscles/tendons in the foot. if it is not a fixed talipes (ask your HV or dr) then it will probably just need a bit of phisiotherapy or maybe a couple of plaster of paris put on to stretch the tendons back to normal.

My advice is to consult a pediatric orthopaedist soon. While some mild form of talipes respond to physical therapy, others require serial casting. This is usually most effective in early infancy. More severe cases require surgery.

i was told that my third baby had got talipes so my gp referred me to the hospital. went to the hospital doctor had a look and said no way has your baby got talipes he said its just the way they lie inside your womb and the feet get squashed my baby is now8 and half months and they are fine. best to get it checked out but hopefully everything will be ok. GOOD LUCK
