Make a 6 oz bottle in the morning, then use some of that to mix with the cereal.
Feed him the cereal first, when hes hungry.. because if you don't, he might get full from the bottle OR not want the cereal after.
Then give him the remaining rest of the bottle. Is he drinks it all, thats fine.. if not thats fine too. Just let him decide.
My son drinks a 5 oz bottle every 3 hours. In the morning I mix his cereal with some of the 5 oz bottle and usually end up with 4 left. Sometimes he drinks it all, othertimes he doesn't.. he stops when he is full.

My son likes to eat his solids first then have a bottle, or sometimes none....but he's almost a year now. As far as how much formula to give him, just give him what you normally would, and he'll stop when he's full. Just take note of how much it is so you don't keep making too much. Sometimes my son has a meat, fruit, and vegetable and then and 8 oz bottle and he's at a perfect weight...that's just the way he likes to eat. Every baby is different and I know how confusing it is starting solids. I didn't really know what to do either...no one really tells you. Just go with your baby's flow. It'll all work out. I've also heard that some baby's like to have a little formula first so they are not starving (I guess they'll refuse solids then)....so you might want to try a little bottle, a little cereal, then, if they want, a little more bottle. Like I said, whatever works for you and your baby is best. Good luck and remember, once you get the hang of it, it'll be easy and fun!

Feed him the same amount of formula as normal - don't decrease this amount to make room for the solid food. The solids are just a supplement to his bottle diet, at least until his first birthday, so just feed him his normal bottles. If he's full, he'll stop eating. With both of my kids, I fed them their bottle after their cereal and that worked fine.

I always give my little girl her bottle after the solids. Don't wait to feed them the solids utnil they are starving though and crying cuz then they will want their bottle only and won't be interested in the food. If you wait to give them their bottle after then they will eat more of the food. The bottle will just fill them up more and satisfy them completely after they eat. It's like drinking a glass of milk after you eat your dinner.
Also I give her cereal in the morning, a veggie and fruit at lunch, and a meat meal and fruit for supper. She seems to like that a lot. You can give your baby as much formula as they will drink.

Give him a bottle whenever he wants it. My son is 11 months old and he still takes at least 6 bottles a day plus three meals. I know that sounds like a lot but he is still only 50% height and weight for his age.

Try giving him some while feeding him the solids. Babies are smart and he will let you know when he's full. If you alternate while feeding him he'll get the best of both worlds. :) Hope this helps you .
