I´ve heard that for babies 6mos old, formula works better than whole organic cow milk. Is that true? I mean, formulas have been in our world for ...what 30 years? And cows.... well lets say much longer....

With each of my four children I had names chosen, because I didn't know the sex of the baby I had to chose a boy name and a girl name! With two of the babies the name suited and they were called that from birth, however with the other two the minute they were born the name didn't fit and I had to choose another, did this ever happen to you? Or even worse, have you ever felt obliged to give a baby a family name that you hated?

my 4 week old just decided in the last few days that she wants to be held 24/7... is this normal? Anyone else experience it? She loved laying on her back before.

I am 5 1/2 months pregnant with my second child. I weighed in at 7 lbs. 6 ounces, the babys father weighed 7 lbs. 4 ounces at birth. My first child weighed 7lbs. 11 ounces at full term. I'm interested in knowing if there is some sort of a mathematical equation to determine what my new born might weigh.

Hi
I was wondering if any of you started off your children with cow's milk before their first birthday. Is it bad to begin giving an 11 month old regular milk.

BTW, the baby has only been breastfeed till this point and is still not crazy about drinking from a bottle.
Thanks :)

My son (7 mo. old) does it, but he has to be lying down to drink. In other words, he hasnt quite get the idea that he has to raise it if he is sitting) Im I making my self clear? ie: When he is sitting he sucks on the thing but doesnt lift it.
Yes, for this reason I offered him a sippy cup with straw which is fine, but anyways I'd like him to understand how to drink from the other one.

Everyone keeps telling me my son looks so much older then he is. They always get this shocked look on their faces when they find out hes only 9 months old. They'd guess 12-14 months old. Does he really look that much older?

I am breastfeeding my 11 day old son. I haven't stopped for anything, or been suplimenting with anything but I have been pumping. My left breast is about twice the size of my right one and my son is having a hard time latching on to my right one because there is no milk there it seems. When I pump, I actually get twice the amount of milk from the left one. Is there any way to make my right one produce more?
Thank you

To all you who have babies, or kids, what are the baby items you "couldn't live without?" We're trying to decide what we actually need from all of the swings, play pens, bassinets, bouncy chairs, etc. What did your kids love? Any recommendations? Thanks!

My daughter has been a great eater and latching on and everything right form the start. Just a day or so ago whenever she eats she takes a little at a time, and fusses after being latched on for about 30 seconds or so. Is this something i should be concerned about, or how to stop her from doing that, what can be causing it, Did you have that problem. Any sugestions please, and thanks for your response.

I have asked him to go, but he keeps making excuses, like he can't get off work, etc. He recently got the upcoming day off and now he keeps acting like he doesn't really want to go anyway. This is hurting my feelings, because I haven't asked him, nor has he gone to any of my other appts. (We have 1 child already, he couldn't attend that one for other reasons, and also, this baby was very unexpected).

I would like to have a stock of bottle incase feeding doesn't work out for us. How many would you recommend I buy? I am going for Dr Browns anti-colic bottles as I believe prevention is better than cure but I don't really want to over buy.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

My son was born 2 weeks ago, 9 weeks premature, and is still in the hospital for another two weeks or so. I'm pumping for him and was wondering two things: is it possible for one breast to produce more milk than the other and is it normal to produce more milk in the morning than at night? Between both breasts, I can pump almost 16 ounces when I wake up in the middle of the night, but at the last pumping before bed, I can only pump about 8 ounces. Is it because I go a longer time without pumping during the night and it's been accumulating? I just hope I'm doing everything right because my first was also 9 weeks premature and I pumped for him, but my milk dried up after only two months. I was hoping to go at least six months, if not a year, with this baby.

I am going crazy here im 37 weeks and 5 days and I can't decide which i rather do... want to breastfeed but only for a month or two. For her to get all the important enzymes and ect. But if I do that it would be pump and feed in day and boob before bed time and during night. Then I hope to turn her over to formulla after 2 months. My point is this healthy? would it be o'kay and what can I do when my breast swell w/ milk.. I can't find any breastmilk donation centers here in ohio. Will a medication be able to stop it? Help

Hi our 3 month old baby seems to be drinking less and less milk. We give him mostly formula milk. Since the last 3 weeks he's been reducing his milk intake. Normally he would get through 90 - 120 ml of milk but nowadays he barely gets through 90ml even after some hours sleep. Towards the end of a feed he cries and doesnt want to drink anymore, but we feel he should be drinking more than what he is. Apart from that he seems happy enough and he seems normal. Is this anything to worry about? I would have thought his demand for milk would get bigger and bigger?
