My son (7 mo. old) does it, but he has to be lying down to drink. In other words, he hasnt quite get the idea that he has to raise it if he is sitting) Im I making my self clear? ie: When he is sitting he sucks on the thing but doesnt lift it.
Yes, for this reason I offered him a sippy cup with straw which is fine, but anyways I'd like him to understand how to drink from the other one.

well that is understandable for a 7 month old, While usually anywhere from 7-9 months when they start to hold the bottle, it still takes some time to realize they ahve to lift he bottle, as far as a straw, 7 months is still kinda young to understand how the whole thing works, I know they can suck out of a straw, but as far as realizing they can not tip it. Yeah kinda young. Dont push baby to grow up too fast, You will regret it . Trust I know

Strap him in the high chair, and give it to him. Have whoever else is home drink from sippy cups so he gets the idea.
[ When I first saw the question, Ithought you meant he was holding it with his feet! ]

Try this: At dinner have the whole family doing from a sippy cup. He will get the idea and try to emulate you.

If not it will still be a fun story to tell him when he gets older.

Don't worry, he'll get it eventually.

Good luck!

I think it's one of those issues that's different for every child. My son is 14 mos. and we are still trying to work this out!!!
