My baby will be 3 weeks old Wed and he has been sleeping in the Pack and Play bassinet since he came home from the hospital. I have been sleeping in the living room (thats where the pack and play is) and I would really like to sleep in my bed tonight. Also, my husband is going back to work tomorrow and I would really like the baby out of the living room so he doesn't get woke up as easily.
The only thing is, It gets kinda chilly in the bedrooms and I am afraid he is going to freeze!
Does anyone have any advice on what to do? I know I cant put a blanket on him but I would like for him to stay warm and not roll over on his belly. Will the crib be too big for him? Should I swaddle him? We roll up a towel and use it as a sleep positioner and it works really well....Should I put that in there? I just want to try to make this easy on both of us. I am against him sleeping with us and I want him to sleep in his own room but I haven't tried it yet. Any tips?????

My three month old son got a hair wrapped around one of his toes and I didn't see it until a friend noticed it yesterday that it cut through the skin on his toe. It wasn't bleeding and I got the hair out - but it was in there really deep. Has this happened to anyone else? What do you do to get it to heal. This is scary - everytime I bend his toe back it looks like his toe is cut into. Will this heal?

a friend of mine has a 2 week old breast fed baby who is beginning to get very gassy and constipated, her mother-in-law suggested using star anise as a tea to ease her stomach discomfort. Is this tea safe for the baby? My friend is very hesitant to use it on her baby.

I am temporarily feeding my infant soy formula for 3 weeks. Partly to check for a milk allergy but mainly so that I may take medication for my Crohn's Disease. I plan to return to breastfeeding after I finish the meds. How often do I need to pump to maintain my milk. I have been getting about 6 pumping sessions in per day getting 4 ounces each time. My baby is almost 2 months. Is this enough pumping? My breasts seem to be keeping up so far. It's been 3 days.

Did you use the lavatory? If so, how difficult was it to manuever in such a tight space. I have also read that some people change their baby's diaper right where they are seated. Is this usually allowed? Any help that you may be able to provide me is greatly appreciated.

I think I make too much for WIC, but it is very hard for me to afford everything for me and my son. I am in the process of getting child support, but he is dragging out the process. I make ok money, but the formula and everything is just too much. My question is, when you apply for WIC, do they take into account your expenses? Because before taxes and everything taken out, I make over the guidelines, but I get $600 a month taken out for childcare and that puts me below the limit. Any ideas??

I use to feel all the babies kicks under my ribs and up near my chest. I went in for an ultrasound a couple weeks ago and the baby was transverse. Now I am feeling all the babies movements in my pelvic bone- could this mean he moved from transverse to breech? Baby is measuring big and I'm worried he won't be able to turn.

ok so like 2 days ago he had what i thought were ant bites, there were about 10 covering his body (mostly on legs and torso) the next day he woke up and he had a rash all over. the most severe is on his face (resembles baby acne, but its not) he has pin sized pumps on his torso, back and a few on his legs and there is a few now on his hands (2 days after the rash started) the dr doesnt think it is chicken poxs because they arent itchy, but she is sending me to another dr later this week. the dr also brought up fifths disease as a possibilities, and she said it is not hands feet mouth disease. he doesnt have a fever, and really hasnt been bothered by the rash. any ideas what else it could be? thanks in advanced.

I have a friend who recently had a baby and is feeling really down. I think she is going thru some depression issues She crys a lot and is very negative of how she looks. She thinks she is too fat but no else thinks so.. she just had a baby so its normal to have baby fat. She is home all day with a new born and also has a 7 year old. I want to help her feel good and have some time for herself. Anyone have any suggestions?

my son is 2 months old (was 7lbs 15oz when bron) and is now around 13 lbs. He feeds (breastmilk) 7-10 times a day and i assume he drinks around 1.5-2 oz at a time, since that is the amount i give him when i pump.

Is his weight gain abnormal? I was told by a friend that infants double their body weight only when they reach 6 months. Is that true?

I have just found out that I have no option to go back to work and do anything less than 37.5 hours a week as I was previously doing before my maternity leave. Am trying to look at as many options as possible meaning I wouldn't have to work five complete days a week, i.e. doing longer days or working into the evening. Any suggestions and has anyone found their particular work pattern to be ok in terms of enough time with baby/enough time for yourself etc?
