When my babies were cutting their top teeth I used Bourbon. I put a little in a glass and rubbed it on with my finger. It helped them alot. Trust me..........your baby won't become a boozer the few times that you use this. Any alcohol will work ; rum, vodka, bourbon, etc. There are also "teething pills" that you can purchase at the drug store that will help them as well but, please, please be careful with these pills as they contain belladonna and that is a very potent drug for a baby k? They work well but only give the baby one pill NO MORE k? I also used frozen candy canes.........the little baby ones. That helped alot cause they could close down on the candy cane and it was cold and hard and it soothed both my boys. There are all kinds of methods for teething..........you just have to pick the one that works for you. I wish you alot of luck !!!
Blessings, Donna

I still don't know if teething is more painful for the baby or for Mom and Dad! All I know is I'll never get back those sleepless nights! For my son, we gave him anything and everything to chew on: cool washcloth (really popular), teething rings, food, cool binkie, cool drinks and even our fingers. Whatever we could find. I'm not a fan of Orajel, I don't think it works. I also think you might want to switch it up to ibuprofen. It's more directed pain relief. It thins the blood, which in turn relieves that pressure. Check with your nurse help line for dosage for your son according to his weight.
You also may want to prop his mattress a little where he lays his head to help relieve some of the pressure and stuffiness that can come with teething.
Also, consider applying diaper cream whether it appears the baby needs it or not. Diaper rash due to diarrhea is very common when babies are teething.
Try to keep him distracted with toys and books. You're going to have to be the strong one over the next few days while they work their way through. The sad part about teething is it can take MONTHS. My son had two teeth break through at about 10 months and they've been coming in full-force, seems like, ever since. He's 21 months now and has nearly a full set. I don't know that any tooth is worse than another when it comes it. It just aches in his mouth and, darn it, he's going to let you know.
Good luck and try to stay relaxed. This too shall pass

Hi, you are doing the best you can, try giving him some calpol or us the cal gel for the pain. I wouldnt use bonjela, try anbesol. I would also take him to the doctors to see if he hasnt got a fever or something, if he has a temperature put a cold cloths in between the legs or the armpits i think to cool him down as if he has a temperature he will be feeling unwell anyways. If he is chewing then keep giving him the teething ring. Im not sure about the teething biscuits these might be making him feel unwell, Who knows. If he doesnt get no better then take him to the doctor.

Give him a clean, wet washcloth to chew on. I found that the teething biscuits only made a mess. They didn't really help with teething. A little ice cream once in a while may help, too. If nothing works, I would call his pediatrician. They can give you more ideas. Good luck. I promise this won't last forever.

Hylands Teething Tablets. They're all natural, quick dissolve tablets that my pediatrician recommended. They are a lifesaver. If your son is 9 months I would give Motrin instead of the Tylenol. An added bonus to the Motrin is that you can get it dye-free!
I would call your pediatrician if neither of those work!

I used Ashton Parsons powder, which you can get from the chemist. You sprinkle it on their tongue, and it seems to do something to help...very strange, but very good.
However, whoever told you the top two are the worse, clearly hasn't gone through back teeth teething!! They really are bad!

I'm a mum of 4 and when they was teething i gave them calpol and a frozen carrot chip and they got through it all ok, but if you try this please remember not to leave your baby unattended with he frozen carrot chip coz he could choke on a bit that he's bitten off, it will pass but it's not nice to see your baby in pain is it.

My son is almost 10 months and just cut his top tooth the other day. He is working on the other one and wow has it been a grouchy house for the last while. I gave up on trying to sooth him because it wasn't working. He's happier just doing it himself. I try tylenol at night but after that he's on his own......THIS TOO SHALL PASS.
