Can she see colors and what about the distance it is for her to see people? and what else can I do besides reading to ensure that she is smart when she gets to that stage of learning? Thanks

My son is almost 6 weeks and I have to go back to work in a month. I work nights, and I have gotten into the bad habit of occasionally letting him sleep in my bed. He sleeps well in his crib, but I have to let him fall asleep in my arms first, and then when I put him down, most of the time he wakes up. He does not cry, he just lays then and makes noises and babbles. Is it ok to leave him and let him go to sleep since he is not crying? Or is he too young to put himself to sleep? I always pick him up if he cries and I rock him, but I don't want him to become reliant on me to go to sleep.

I am trying to break my 2 and a half daughter of her thumb sucking, she does it when shes tired. Currently there have been a lot of changes in her life I just went back to work, she goes to the babysitters over night etc.. I dont want to use nasty hot sauce or things like that to break her of it but it needs to stop, im sure it is a way to deal with the changes in her life but it really needs to stop. I have thought about trying to replace her thumb with a binki and then eventually in a few months taking that away but idk....

i would like some ideas on how to do this... im not asking for people to tell me to leave it alone cause i really dont want to hear it so if thats your opinion please dont even bother answering this.
just some simple sugestions would be sooo much aprecieated. her speach is perfect for her age but her teeth are crooked. regaurdless this needs to stop and I need some opinions.... Thanks to everyone in advance

My mother in law insists that babies run a high fever when they are teething. I have read somewhere that their temperature should never get above 99.6 while teething. I think that if your baby has a high fever while teething, there is another problem. What do you think?

We are having huge problems. We have quintuplets. And they aren't going to bed. We put them each in their own room. They all go to bed. The one wakes up. My wife goes to take care of it. Then while she is taking care of it the toher one starts to cry. So I get up and start to take care of the other one. They both finally go to bed and then about 20 minutes later the other one starts to cry. How do you get them to sleep nicely and not cry in the middle of the night. It's getting harder and harder everyday. They are only like 2 weeks old.

I am 9 weeks pregnant with baby number two and after hearing some mothers horror stories about being unable to breastfeed or complete breastfeeding for a length of time I wonder why this is. I didnt have any difficulty with mine and I know that it differs from woman to woman and am just curious as to whether there are any particular reasons and what people's experiences were as none of these women have ever really discussed in detail what problems arose and then it would also help me to prevent any problems when I try to breastfeed again from September.
Thanks for all your answers i apologise in advance if this question causes offence but I am sincerely asking for experiences and advice. :)

She will only drink milk (Homoginzed milk 3%) from a bottle. She refuses to drink juice or water either from bottle or sippy cup. Is it ok to only drink milk or should she be on juice too?

With a bottle, I mean? Like, when was he/she able to hold it on their own and drink the whole thing? (just wondering, not wanting mine to feed himself yet!)

I was breastfeeding exclusivly for 3 weeks but she didnt seem to ever get enough (because she always falls asleep after 5 min of nursing and also perhaps because I am under alot of stress) so I started giving her some bottles...2 or 3 per day. It seemed to really help her finally feel full for a few hrs at a time

Because 'breastfeeding on demand' is what we are used to...I dont know how much formula to give her (shes about 10 lbs now) per feeding or per day because I dont know how much breast milk she is actually getting.

Can she over stuff herself? Is 4 oz enough? is 6 oz too much? What is the best way to combine breast and bottle? Feed either/or at set times during the day? Offer breast and then bottle each feeding?

...its so confusing to know what to do...I dont want to overfeed her yet half the time I dont even know if its 'feeding time' yet??? 2 hrs 4 hrs? breast? bottle?

any advice?

i am breastfeeding my son, and I just wanted to know how many moms out there went for 6 months or 3 months or what ever time frame of breastfeeding. I feel really guilty for thinking about switching to formula, I don't think I will for some time because I don't want to cheat my son out of the good stuff, but I just wanted to know how many moms deal with this to?

Have you been to a baby shower recently. Do you have some ideas for best games or are games at baby showers out of style now. I have a new group of friends having babys and I would like to have a baby shower for them but don't really know where to start. Thanks for your help!

My son is 5mo old and got a little cold. His daddy has had one for the last week and he finally got it yesterday. As to my understanding there is really nothing you can do. I know to contact his doctor but this is something I'm not freaking out about. Just wanted to ask any experienced moms if there is anything they did that helped or any home remedies.

I have used nasal saline drops for his nose and the bulb. Also using a humidifier at night, plus we have elevated his mattress so he is not laying flat......

Thanks for any advise!

Have you ever had that problem? My 5 months old does not drink breast milk from a bottle! When I give him Gripe water, baby tea, or just plain water, he drinks it with pleasure, but he absolutely refuses to take breastmilk or formula! It's hard for me, because when we go out, I have to look for a place to breastfeed him. Or if I leave him with a babysitter, she can't feed him.
I tryed all bottles and nipples on the market, nothing works.
How comes he drinks water but not milk?

My daughter is 8 months. She has started spitting up what looks like cottage cheese. It smells like rotten milk.
Shes eating ok, no fever, no other symptoms.
She does have a little cold, sniffles and minor cough.
I dont know if its related or not, but its not alot of spit up, but it is new and unusual for me.
If you had an experience close as this please any info.

Thanks
