Newborn & Baby - February 2007

All these guys are now claiming to be her father. How many of these people would be coming forward if that baby didn't have an HUGE dollar sign stamped on her forehead. I would take her in a second, keep the money, I don't want it. The baby is entitled to this money, she should be able to receive it (every penny) upon her 18th birthday. I can only imagine how these bums are going to try and funnel it out of her. Very sad. What are your thoughts???

Okay, I am a woman I do not have a baby or any kids but my friends are starting to have babies. Here's the weird thing about me ( I think its weird) everytime im in any store: deparment store, warlmat, target.... I always make my way to the baby aisle either to buy my friends babies a couple of items or babyshower gifts for whenever or just to look at the baby clothes and accessories. I always stage a front like I dont want babies right now but when I see my friends with their babies or pregnant it makes me want to just put my education on hold and have a baby.Im not dumb I have a couple of degrees.but would you think I was a bit weird by looking in the baby aisle and not purchasing anything. just looking or buying my friends babies alot of items or asking my friends for a photo of them and their baby? my family says im baby crazy.

How long does it take? If I want my child to be weaned by 10 months, how far in advance should I start? I´m trying to get some realistic info and advice,I know theres loads of facts online...I heard that if you stop before theyre"ready"(are they ever ready?) it can be extremely stressful or traumatic for the child. Also, what is a realistic age for bottle weaning? Thanks!

Soon my little girl will be 4 month old and I have mixed feelings about immunization. During her first shots she cried bloody murder each time the nurse pocked her thigh. I could not calm her down for 30 minutes and she cried the whole day at home. She had a fewer and one of her legs was red at she shots spot. For three days she did not smile or coo and cried allot. I have been researching allot on immunization (the good and the bad) and found out that some parents had their children die on the spot or later at home. As well there are cases of brain damage. I also found an FDA report stating that almost every child experienced irregular breathing and heartbeat during the first two weeks after the shots. My husband is worried but says that we should do it, so does my father. My mother says no way and I think that I don’t want it either.
I know the benefits they can have, but is it really worth it to risk? what do you think?

My 3 week old son has a little case of baby acne. I've tried using his baby wash with warm water, and it's not clearing up. I'm afraid to try anything else on my own. It's not a big deal, because I know it will clear up on its own eventually, but it would still be nice to be able to deal with the problem myself. Any ideas?

I am 33 weeks pregnant and have been on meds to stop my labor since I was 28 weeks. I am dialated to a fingertip and the baby's head is right there. Everyday I get more and more restless and impatient but worried aswell. On the 28th I will be taken off the medication and I am a lil scared. I will be 36 weeks but I want my son to be able to feed ok. I guess my question is for those who have been there or know someone who has.

i see the lines cutting through the gums and it looks as tho her 2 outter teeth are growing 1st instead of the 2 front teeth. Does that happen? i cant feel the teeth yet but i can see the whites of it. Theres a huge gap between the u[coming new teeth. So does it mean her outter teeth is growing in 1st or that shes gonna have a gap?

Ok I am going on a 12 week maternity leave (currently 37 weeks pregnant) and my job needs me to go to a training class in Minneapolis (Id have to fly and stay a day or two, possibly more.) This class is needed every year and happens to fall on the time of my leave, but I have agreed to go. Its about 7 weeks after my daughters due date. I plan on breastfeeding, what can I do in the days I am gone to feed my daughter? Should I freeze my milk and have my fiance give it to her when I am gone. What is the proper way to thaw out frozen milk? Sit on the counter, put the bottle in a pan of water and boil?

Sometimes it's even as frequent as 1 1/2 hours!!?? Is this common? I can't get him to nurse longer than 10 minutes....usually it's only about 5 and he's a really vigorous nurser and he never wants the other side just one breast per feeding. When do they usually start to go longer between feedings? Thanks for any help!!

My poor baby girl has really bad gas and gets constipated all the time, and on top of that she gets hiccups all the time. She is lactose intolerant so I had to start giving her Soy formula. She is only 7 weeks old. What can I do to help her to feel more comfortable? The doctor always tell us the same thing just to make her comfortable, and I just dont know how. This is my first kid. Can anybody give me some advice and help me with this?

I was wondering how a woman who gives birth who still has a long time to serve find adoptive parents for her baby. That is if she dosent have family to take the baby.Would social service in that county just come and take the baby or does the mother have the ablity to choose adoptive parents just as with outher adoptions. Is this diffrent or regulated the same?
