You need to scheduled an appointment for early morning with the Dr. Eat an early dinner, and then take the boy to get his blood drawn ( have a snack in your bag to let him eat something and a sippy of juice so that he get rid of the hunger. A fasting draw is best to check the initial blood sugar.
He should be checked no less then once per year since his mother has it. untreated sugar levels can cause great damage to the body and its organs.

Diabetics have sugar in their urine. That will attract ants. Get the child to a doctor at once.

why not have her check his blood sugar? right before feeding and then again a couple hours after, but i would also take him to the doc if you are concerned
