My poor baby girl has really bad gas and gets constipated all the time, and on top of that she gets hiccups all the time. She is lactose intolerant so I had to start giving her Soy formula. She is only 7 weeks old. What can I do to help her to feel more comfortable? The doctor always tell us the same thing just to make her comfortable, and I just dont know how. This is my first kid. Can anybody give me some advice and help me with this?

A tiny bit of Karo syrup in her bottle will help the constipation. Be careful with Mylicon drops - they help gas but make constipation worse. My son was gassy, and I found it helped to put him on his tummy to sleep. I know a lot of people will say that's not good for them, but his pediatrician okayed it. The pressure on his tummy helped him to settle down.

For the gas you should give her mylicon drops. They are absolutely excellent! As for the constipation, I would definitely ask your doctor if there is any specific medicine or home remedy that would relieve it. I breastfed so my daughter never really had constipation. You could try laying her on her back and gently massaging her stomach and moving her legs in a bicycling motion. It should help relieve some constipation and gas. Definitely get mylicon drops for your daughter. My daughter always had gas and these things are a life saver! I promise they work like a charm. Good luck!

As for the constipation, you may need to change her formula again. But to make her more comfortable, some people swear by special holds, that put pressure on the belly helping ot release gas. Also ask your dr. about infant gas drops. She's still pretty young, but "little tummies" is supposed to be wonderful. Some babies love to be swaddled when they are feeling ill. Also, make sure she is burping really well after being fed.

All of my children are lactose intolerant and gassy. I found Gas drops with my first one and they have worked wonders. You can use Mylacon or Little Tummies and I am sure there are more brands out there.

run her legs in bicycle motion or rub her tummy in a circular motion, or put her in a warm bath. that might help her pass her gas.

My son had this problem as well. I kept taking him to doctor after doctor. Finally, someone listened to me and prescribed a very gentle mild laxative to add to his formula. The constipation went away and so did the gas problem.
