i was wondering how u really time the contractions..
is it from the begining of the first contraction till the next contraction.. how dose this contraction timing work.. please help?
also the first day the baby is born.. how long do u put the baby on each breast.. and how often..?

My 4 week old daughter always leaks up the front of her diaper when it's a poopy diaper. She's breastfed so it's not terrible but almost every poop, it goes right up the front of the diaper all over her tummy and onto her clothes.

Any suggestions what I can do? We've tried both Luvs and Pampers. I have have some Huggies to try but I hate to open another pack of diapers!

My daughter is into Renaisance faire stuff and her BF is into Science Fiction stuff and are having a boy in June. My boyfriend and I have agreed to bring our son home from the hospital in a Tampa Bay Bucs outfit. (This was a compromise on my part!) :o) Of course it is red. We found the cutest Tampa Bay receiving blanket that matched the outfit perfectly. However, I cannot find plain red socks and a little red cap. Does anyone know where I might find the socks and cap? I'm due in 17 days and need to get them asap! I appreciate any help you can give!

I am due in 17 days and just wanted to see if anyone had any strong opinions on diaper brands that might be best for a baby boy. I have been told Pampers are best for a boy and then I was told Huggies - so I wanted to see what the majority vote was.
I've been told to kind of stay away from generic brand diapers altogether - but if you have an opinion on that, please share! Thanks for your help!

Is it possible for a baby who has absolutely no physical characteristics of Down's Syndrom to have it?! She is almost 10 weeks old, in the 50-75th percentile in all growth catagories, extremely alert, and very social. Her pediatritian is constantly telling us how she is amazed by my daughters strength, alertness, and progress. She holds her head up rather steady when placed on her belly, she lifts her bottom half of her body, and she has began to start to roll over from front to back (she would get it too if she could figure out how to place her arm). The reason I ask is because her grandfather is convinced that she needs to be tested because she usually sticks her tounge out all the time. If it were an issue wouldn't you think that her pediatrician would have noticed it by now... seeing as my daughter has seen her doctor more than she has seen her grandfather?!

My wife and I just had our first baby seven days ago. I have found myself absolutely paranoid. The doctor said he was an extremely health baby and is actually stronger than babies his size and weight. Why do i feel so terrified with the thought of him getting sick with minor stuff like most babies...is this feeling normal???

i'm trying to decide if its worth the investment to get rechargeable batteries or not. it will cost about $40 up front but i won't have to buy D batteries ever again.
