I know the ones in stores are around 70-150 bucks. Way too expensive for me!

I got a changing pad that's sort of U shaped - the sides are high - and I put it on top of the washing machine. It's just the right height for me. I store extra diapers and wipes on top of the dryer. Of course, it's light weight and comes off easily when I need to use the washer.

Wish I could remember where I got the pad - I think it was a hand-me-down. It's sort of like this:

$15 is better than $150!

Inexpensive Changing Table

Well - if you only need a changing table - I might check a baby consignment shop or thrift store or something.
I was (and still am) on a tight budget for purchasing my baby items and Wal-Mart has a 3 piece set (crib, dresser, and changing table) for under $200. Which I thought was a steal. Although the dresser isn't the best quality, the changing table and crib are awesome, especially for price.
Also - if you have everything you need but a changing table, I'd skip it. Your couch, bed, or floor will work just as good without having to spend the money on it. Had I not found that set at Wal-Mart for so cheap, I wouldn't have gotten a changing table.
Good luck!

Floor is fine, although I had a c-section so there would have been no way I could have got down on the floor. Trademe, 2nd hand shops etc. I have used two different items that we had around the house. One was a camping table the other was a computer desk - for both of these I purchased a cheap changing mat with curved sides. The computer desk is good as the pull out keyboard area I put nappies on and the shelf for the hardrive stores items too! Good luck

Try Ebay or Craig's List, local church sales, yard sales.....or if you have a big dresser for the baby that is about waist high, you can get a pad to put on top it(no extra furniture then). Walmart also sells "nursery in a box" You get the crib, changing table, and a dresser for about $200. The crib makes into a toddler bed & a full size headboard, so it grows with the baby!:)

For he first 3 months I just used a mat on the floor. Now I use a dresser and purchased a changing table cushion for the top of it. It stays in place just fine because the bottom of it has a non slide surface, and it also fastens to the back of the dresser by screws. I can't remember how much the cushion cost, but it wasn't that much. The brand was Especially For Baby and I got it at Babies r Us.

Buy portable, cloth-covered changing pads and use a regular table or the floor. That's how they did it before consumers were convinced that 'baby needs more furniture than the living room has in it'. You'll save yourself at least $100.

Target carries a great changing pad that you can use anywhere for about $20. It has a removable terrycloth cover (great if you have a little boy who loves to shower you at each changing, like mine did.) It also has a little pocket on the side for diaper cream and such. I love mine and use it all the time.

You don't need a change table.... I never could figure out how to change a baby from the side!!

I just used my bed or the floor... works for me.

Check out consignment stores, second-hand stores, garage sales, etc.

Yard Sales & Thrift Shops have some REAL NICE things because babies grow so fast!!!

However, as far as a changing table......... I never used mine!! I almost always used the crib!! Or the floor w/a mat or towel on it!!!
