I tried them all and Pampers Swaddlers were the best by far. They just don't leak. As far as cheap (generic) diapers go - you get what you pay for. I tried it once. I absolutely hated them. My baby had a rash, they leaked, and the tabs on several of them fell off. If you go to Pampers' website and register with them they will send you coupons every month or so. (Usually for $1.50 - $2.00 off!) They put them in the packages of diapers sometimes too. Hope that helps. Good luck!

I have 4 boys and our 5th due on Friday, so we have been through tons of diapers. It seems like diaper companies change their diapers every so often, so sometimes we have good luck with one, then they change them & they are not as good for the next kiddo. Weird, but that is the truth. I can say that once a baby gets bigger (fatter) most any of the diaper brands (Pampers, Huggies & yes, Walgreen's brand diapers) work all equally well. The problems we have run into are the newborn diapers of various brands not working as well as babies are kinda skinny when born, so their legs never seem fat enough to fill out the newborn diapers so leaks occur. What we have found though is this: We get at least one package of premie diapers (any brand) and those are perfect for the first week or two after the baby is born. They fit much better around a 6 to 7lb (nearly 8lb) baby, and after that, the newborn diapers (in any brand) work well. My biggest find is that Walgreen's has improved their brand of diapers and so I am very please with them (along with their price!). I have stocked up on a huge amount of those for the baby I already have in diapers (20 month old) and the new baby due on Friday. Hope this helps.

It really depends on your baby. With my first son I used Huggies and it was fine. With my second son, I had to use Pampers. He would pee out of the sides of the Huggies. And yes stay away from generic! I bought a pack from Sam's Club, and there was the reminents of what looked like a roach INSIDE of the cotton part in the diaper. It could have been another type of bug, but non the less, it was an insect. The cheapest way to buy that worked for me is, going to Walmart, buying the biggest box with like 150 diapers and using a coupon.

We used Pampers Swaddlers for my son up until he was about 5 months old. Then we tried some other generic brands out. Walmart's White Cloud diapers seemed to be the best. They don't break him out and they seem comfortable. Never had any leaks with them either. I would stick with a more expensive brand for a newborn (just b/c they're less likely to cause breakouts), but after that, there's no harm in trying to save some money. My son couldn't care less what brand diaper he's wearing.

We used Huggies for the first 4 mo because we got a lot of diapers from our baby shower and family and they were Huggies. I have a son and they worked fine but when it came to finally going out and buying them we chose Luvs. They work fine and you can't beat the price! They don't have the stretchy part on the back like Huggies but I got used to them and have had no problems. I also used pamper swaddlers newborn because we weren't expecting him to be so small and the number ones were too big and loved those also! Good luck.....

I love Pampers. They have a soft powder smell and seem softer, and they seem to catch everything better. HOWEVER, your baby might have an allergy to Pampers, so you'll just have to see what you can use. My son could use anything. All the generic brands were a great disappointment to me because I had hoped I could use them to save money. They either leaked or had to be changed more often, so I wasn't saving any money or time in the long run. Huggies is good, but I just preferred the Pampers.

We use Huggies. Our 9 month old boy pees right through generics plus has allergies and most generic brands tend to give him rashes. A lot of the generics we HAVE tried, the tabs would always come off so in the end it still didn;t save us any money.
We tried Pampers with him at first but he just peed right through those as well. My oldest(girl) broke out badly with Luvs so we just passed those up when seeing what worked best for this one.

I tried huggies but after the circumsision they LEAKED horribly!pampers are your best bet my son is now 2 so for the past year i've been usuing the wal mart brand white cloud they are almost half the price (i was leary of generics said i'd never use em )but they have saved me so much money they work great!but for now with a newborn i'd use pampers!!and if you plan on the circumsision good luck because they make you put a coating of vaseline on the inside of the diaper so the pee just runs out!!so be ready with a large wardrobe!!thats only for a week ,but nobody ever told me!!good luck with your son !!!!

Luvs are the ones that a lot of babies seem allergic to. My favorite are Huggies Supreme, but Pampers work just as well. And, they work out to be cheaper. My only problem with them is that they have a strange smell...I can't really pinpoint it.
With either of those two we've not had a leak! Except when I put a diaper on him that was too small...just to use the last of them up.

We use Huggies. With generic, you just end up changing them more often so they don't save a lot of money in the long run. Here's a tip on changing a boy's diaper: make sure the penis is pointed down when you put the new diaper on. I can't tell you how many times my kid peed out of the top of a diaper before I figured that one out.
