This is for mommy baby swim classes. Our doctor said it would be fine since she has had her first round of shots.

They don't sell them that small. The smallest ones are for 16 lbs. and up. We searched everywhere. It's best not to take the baby swimming until after they're at least 6 months anyways.

haha wow this sounds like my life. My daughter is also 3 months and i'm super excited to take her swimming. I'm in Ohio and the weather here has been the same so i plan to go swimming in the next couple weeks. My daughter is only 11 lbs right now (she was 4 when she was born) long and skinny as well and she as well only made it into ones at about 2 1/2 months. haha. but anywayd i know that that is the smallest swim diaper they make it may be a big bit, but with a bathing suit helping to hold it in hopefully it will be okay. I haven't tried any on so hopefully they are to big in the thighs for leaks. Everything i've heard says they don't make swim diapers smaller because newborns aren't supposed to go swimming but they don't think about babies that are just small. I've heard so many different reviews about babies in pools whether it's good or bad but i don't care, she's going swimming i think it's just fine. So i'd say our best option is just get the smallest swim diapers and hopefully they'll be alright.

Any kind of diaper in the water is about useless as the stuff will leak into the water anyway.
Time your baby's feeding so that she eats at least two hours before class and then right after. This should help prevent floaties.
As for 'number 1', it'll leak into the water anyway, so don't worry about it.
Just put a panty of some sort on her. My little boys swam nude, but this was in the home pool...
And, I disagree with waiting until they are older. The younger the baby, the better her natural instinct for swimming.

I would look into cloth diapers, they have lining like swim diapers do and the inside next to baby's skin is fleecy. You can order them online, do a websearch for Happy Heinies. pocket diapers can take an insert to make them absorbant or you can leave the insert out and use as a swim diaper!

If you can't find them that small you might want to get a rubber pants bathing suit bottom it will serve the same purpose as a swim diaper, they are only made to keep poopies in.

See the link below.

The 6 month size fits UP to six months/13 lbs.

They're not disposable, but they're easy to rinse out.

I have a swim baby myself. :-)

I don't think they sell them that small. taking her into a pool isn't recommended until she is 6 months. even if she had her shots, the chlorine will tear up her new baby skin. it is hard to wait, but I think it is worth it :)
