No, but you can start him on some rice cereal. Doctors say you should wait till about 4 to 6 months depending on the doctor. Doctors say you should stick to formula feeding or breast feeding till then.

No his belly isn't ready, you could make him very, very sick. Also formula is waay more filling and nutritious than any baby food, so why give him less calories if he needs more?

Is your baby eating AT LEAST 32 oz of formula a day?

The following organizations recommend that all babies be exclusively breastfed (no cereal, juice or any other foods) for the first 6 months of life (not the first 4-6 months):

* World Health Organization
* UNICEF
* US Department of Health & Human Services
* American Academy of Pediatrics
* American Academy of Family Physicians
* American Dietetic Association
* Australian National Health and Medical Research Council
* Royal Australian College of General Practitioners
* Health Canada

Most babies will become developmentally and physiologically ready to eat solids by 6-9 months of age. For some babies, delaying solids longer than six months can be a good thing; for example, some doctors may recommend delaying solids for 12 months if there is a family history of allergies.

No it is not unless there is a medical reason that your doctor has told you to.Babys digestive systems are not develop enough and starting them before 6 months they can develop allergy's and can cause serious problems with there digestive systems.rice may be alright when he is at least 4 months then only to be fed by spoon not put into a bottle.My opinion with the rice in the bottle,alot of other people disagree with that.

That sounds about normal for a three month old. Babies should not start solids until at least 6 months. After 6 months their main source of nourishment should be still breastmilk or formula.

No, Babies ahould only drink breastmilk or formula until they are 6 months. I was only breastfeeding, however at about 10 weeks I started to introduce formula because it seemed my breastmilk was not satisfing him.

I Had to start my daughter on solids at that age. It is recommended to try rice cereal first. Check with your pediatrician to see what they prefer, the local health department can also give you suggestions.

It's possible he is going through a growth spurt. It might pass, if not ask your doctor about it at his next visit, or call. He might give you the thumbs up.
