Ok she's 4 months old and teething. She's also, like many baby's, got a cold. On top of it she had her shots yesterday. Doc says cold is ok. Give her baby cold meds, serynge, and use humidifier, also tylenole.
Here's my problem. On the cold stuff and tylenole she sleeps a lot. When she isnt sleeping she's very cranky and fussy.
For teething she's too young for a teething ring and won't use it. She turns down a frozen washcloth. She hates oragel and it doesn't work. Don't tell me to use alcohal as i think that's child abuse. What works? Suggestions would be great.
As far as the shots she's doing a bit better tonight but with all 3 the poor thing is in a lot of pain. She's still eating fairly good though.

We tried out one today and it was perfect to encourage the little one to sit.

I know John Lewis used to sell them but they stopped as the material is not flame retardent.

Dr's have DXed my Newborn with Breast Milk Jaundice. But no one can give me any answers. It dosent seem as though they know what it is.

Do you know what it is?
Or what causes it?
Have any of your babies ever have it?

My nipples are very sore after breast feeding my newborn son so I decided to alternate from breast to bottle which he doesn't seem to mind. He is a week old today. I started pumping my breasts into bottles but am unsure how much the baby was getting from my breasts after each feeding. I filled a bottle with 2 ounces of my breastmilk and gave it to the baby and he drank all of it. Is 2 ounces too much or too little? What would u suggest?

Any ideas?

I already know the following: go to second hand stores, use ebay, sew your own crib skirt / bumper pad, and research.

We are on a GREAT schedule! Up at 7 nap from 8-10, nurse back to sleep at 11:30-12 up at 1PM nurse, back to sleep at 2:30 til' 4PM nurse then maybe a cat nap 40 mins about 6 then we start the whole bath/sleep routine. Here lately he seems to want to drop the last nap but I think the 45 mins. helps not be so grumpy. Should I keep him up longer in the AM and just go to 2 naps a day? I thought only 2 naps per day when they hit 6 months?afternoon

She loves rubbing her face back on forth on the couch, burp cloths, her daddy's beard, pillow cases etc. I thought that she would use her hands more..

Just wondering what's the most popular answer. My S-I-L thinks that the baby needs to stay in the protection of home until s/he is at least 8 weeks old (even when the weather is beautiful and 70 degrees). On the other hand, I look forward to stroller walks in shady parks or sitting outside my horse's pasture under a tree with my baby as soon as my body is up to it... as long as it isn't too hot, too cold or too buggy. Also, I will have to protect baby from the sun! What's your opinion???

My 3 week old is already addicted to falling asleep with paci. The problem is it falls out about 10 times before she'll fall asleep (keeping me up). Can I ween her from it or is it too early?

He only takes it at night (3 times). During the day, he only eats solid food. Is there any other parents who have the same problem? I am worried that he won't get enough nutrient from the solid because what he can eat is limited at this age. Thanks in advance for any inputs!

hello, i was wondering, can anyone help me or give me advice on how to wake up in the middle of the night to hear my daughter?

i just recently had a baby, and she is almost two weeks old. My mom has been staying with me, and helping me take care of the baby. She wakes up in the middle of the night, and feeds her because i can not wake up, i dont hear her cry. Has this ever happend to anyone before? and can someone tell me ways that i can be able to hear my baby, and wake up?

by the way, i had a C section, when i had my baby, and i have to take pain meds for it. Could that be a reason why i cant wake up that good? and am always tired?

I thought my husband would be able to stay home with our daughter until late August (he has a more flexible schedule than me because he is a graduate student). However his advisor just gave him and his group a deadline of showing some results in April therefore he has to go to the lab more...meaning she has to go to daycare..Basically I wanted to wait until she was older (not going until August) so that she will have a parent to bond more with. CAN YOU TELL I REALLY DON'T WANT HER TO GO..So moms that have their babies in daycare do you sense a change in them, is bonding different now, etc...

My daughter will be 5 months soon and I was considering giving her 1-2 spoons of mashed bananas in her rice cereal. I've heard that baby food should not be given until 6 months, what is the reason? What were to happen if I did give it to her one month early?

For about 2 weeks now my 7 week old has only been sleeping for about 3 hrs at a time now. He was sleeping for about 4-5 hrs? His routine during the day hasn't changed. Could he not be getting enough to eat? I'm breast feeding, and I know I have a pletiful supply because he doesn't even drain the whole breast noramlly at a feeding, and only feeds on one side at a time. I can't get him to feed for more than about 5-10 mins at a time, then he stops by himself and seems content? Is this noraml? !st time mom if you can't tell!!!! Thanks for any help
