I would beat the living schmit out of your sister for starters.

Ususally with a concussion it's the first 24 hours you have to worry about...

Also, I'd talk to the doctors about that tooth...if it's loose, they may want to pull it because it may pose a choking hazard.

I'm sure your baby is fine, bruises heal and baby teeth are replaced by adult teeth...as long as she's acting normally...just try to make her comfortable and try to ignore the poor bruises.

Your sister on the other hand...I'd take her out back and knock her in the damn head..maybe knock a tooth out while you're at it. Maybe a "slight concussion" will help her pay better attention to screaming, injured children.

I can understand your upset. First if the doctors said your baby is fine then relax about that and take a deep breath. Your babies teeth will most likely work it's self around and come back out in time. If your concerned go to a pediatric dentist and tell the dentist what happened and let them tell you what they think. Something similar happened in my family, and all that happened to the teeth is delayed them coming in for awhile. Now to address your anger with your sister. Does she have any kids herself, if she doesn't maybe she didn't realize what she should have done and how she should have reacted. It's understandable that you are angry with her, what did she say in her defense? Give yourself some time to calm down and ask her these questions. If you are ever to trust her with your child again you need to know the answers to these and any other questions you have. If you really think she did this on purpose, your common sense should tell you what to do, if you think it was an accident and she feels bad about what happened then you need to forgive her; like you said accidents do happen no matter where your child might be. I will say one thing no six month old should be left alone at any time and their environment should be protected/padded so they don't get hurt when they tumble.. Please take some time to relax and calm down then talk to your sister most chances are it was an accident and she feels terrible, if you find different then you will know never to leave your child with her again. Good luck,

Schedule a follow-up visit with the baby's doctor. You will probably find she's just fine and you'll feel better.

Then, when you've calmed some, have a talk with your sister. Remind her of what YOU consider proper child care responsibilities. But consider your own judgement. How old is your sister? How much experience does she have? How specific were your instructions before you left?

Then give your baby and your sister both a hug.

My nephew got a concussion when he was about 7 mths old. My sister didn't realize it cause he jumped out of his crib in the middle of the night , he went to his sisters bed and went back to sleep. My sister tough her daughter took him out of the crib, well we noticed the next day he had a soft spot on his head, That concussion was the first of many thing from the family daredevil. He has had stitches and other head accidents but he is fine very smart little boy. he is now 7. My son is the total opposite he is to scared to go jumping off swings and he is older but he has had his share of stitches to just not as many as his cousin, LOL. I am just saying like one of the other people said, things happen when they are not being watched and even when they are being watched( Things happen) I hoped I helped you feel alittle bit better and don't hate ur sister she was trying to help out by staying with ur daughter

I'll console you. The baby is going to be fine. Babies fall and hit their heads and very very very few of them end up with long term side effects. I always say: that's why God made babies so short, so they don't have very far to fall. You're sister made a very bad judgment call.

Take a deep breath. You cannot necessarily run your child to the emergency room everytime he/she falls or cries. Yes she has a goose egg, thats what happens. Growing up I had plenty of goose eggs They go away and you move on. You learn to avoid the behavior that produces it. Go easy on your sister. She was afraid to call. And seeing your reaction here, I can see why she would be afraid to call and tell you what happened.
