Newborn & Baby - February 2007

My 4 month old has a flat spot on one side of his head, it looks like the one side is kinda pushed in a bit. The doctor says it's not severe enough for a helmet and to just place him to sleep on the other side, which I do. But he turns his head and sleeps on the flat spot.

Is there anything I can do to prevent it from getting any worse, or to improve it? I saw a pillow called the Noggin pillow but it says not to use in the crib, only in car seats and strollers.

Thanks for your suggestions and help.

My son will be 15 weeks this Wednesday and currently weighs about 13 lbs). Currently, he wants to eat 5-6 oz every 3 hours (sometimes he'll sleep through the night - sometimes he'll only go 3-6 hours and then wake for a feeding and go back to sleep).

Our Peditrician had us start adding rice cereal to his bottle (we only put about a tsp in each bottle) a couple months ago because he was eating too much. My mom and grandmother think we should start feeding him (baby) solids, but I'm not sure if it's too early or not.

Just thought I'd see what kind of advice / suggestions others on here had.

for infants. The ones with the bright fabric and the toys that hang down for the baby while lying on the floor. I was thinking about the boppy one that actually has the mini boppy pillow on it for my son who is due in June. If you would recommend getting one why, and if not, why not?

I did some searches for breastmilk and found an alarming number of questions about husbands/boyfriends wanting to breastfeed. I am curious as to how many of these answers are real. I have one boy and had a very hard time breastfeeding him. I also didn't like the way my breasts looked so I would keep them covered from my husband. I would always wear a bra during intimate moments and he never saw me naked while I was nursing. So the topic never came up with us and I'm just curious is this just a select group of men or do alot of men want to breastfeed. Just curious, so please don't belittle me or give me crappy answers.

I am covered under my mother's health insurance until I am 23 years old. I live on my own and am pregnant. (live in Portland, Oregon) I have heard of a law in Oregon that requires a newborn to be covered under their mother's insuarnce for the first 30 days after they are born. I have been trying to research this but have not found any information on insuarnce coverage for newborns in the state of Oregon at all. Please help.

I am flying out to see my parents, It should be a short flight (no longer than 7 hours all together, lay overs included), and I nurse my 6 week old exclusively.

He can take a bottle, so I have some tiny containers of formula in case of some sort of emergency.

The thing is, except for hiding in the back seat of the car, I havent tried nursing in public.

Anyone got any helpful tips for nursing in a situation like this? Should I be prepared for nasty looks from people? It is still socially acceptable to breast feed right?

I have a 3 week old son and I need to go on a business trip in a few days. I know this might be a dumb question, but is it okay for me to be absent from my baby's life for a couple of days? By the way, my wife and I, and our baby live alone, and I realize I should arrange for help. I'm just asking for my wife's sake, how will she take it. I haven't told her yet.

My baby is 4 months today. Since last month, he has gained only 1 pound and not an inch on his height.

He is 14 lbs and 25 inches. He is only on breastmilk. He takes 32 ounces in 24 hours.

Anything I should be doing to make sure he is gaining more and growing?
