You need to make sure that you're covered for pregnancy under your mom's policy. MOST insurance policies explicitly exclude the pregnancy for a covered child. You'll really only know by contacting the insurance company directly.

I was in the same situation when I had my son. First you need to contact the insurance company and find out if they do, or if they will cover the baby for a limited time. My son was covered for the first 30 days. If they will not cover both of you, contact you local families and children department. They will help find a way to insure you and the baby (until they are five years old) at little or no cost. There are many programs available to make sure that insurance is in place for both you and the baby. Good Luck and Congratulations!

your baby is most likely not covered. You will probably not be able to find health coverage for your baby since you are already pregnant. Most companies require that you be covered at least a year before a pregnancy is covered. You can apply for medicaid and they will cover you and the baby. this may be the only way to get insurance. And doctors won't even see you without insurance. I know this because I was in the same position and didn't have insurance. I couldn't get anyone to cover me and ended up having to get medicaid.

You most likely should not be covered by your mother's health plan even now. If you are 23 AND you are not living at home and you are not a full-time college student, she may be committing insurance fraud. Your baby will NOT be covered by your mother's health plan -- I'd say with 99 percent certainty. You should talk to the county health department to get you and your baby covered under the state's health care program. Good luck!

Depending on the insurance probably not. However if you cant afford your own insurance get off your moms and get medicaid you and your daughter will be covered. You will be covered for six months after she is born then re apply and you and your baby will recieve it for as long as you need they have great doctor for you and her. You can also apply for food stamps which is a credit card that gives you about $200 to buy food it really can help along with wic which can help you now and after.

YOu would actually have to contact the office of your Mum's medical insurance. They should be able to tell you whether or not this is so. Also in many states it is required that the Father provide medical insurance for the minor child. That is something else you might want to look into.

RE :Pregnant -- still on my mom's health insurance policy... will my baby be covered when he/she is born?
I am covered under my mother's health insurance until I am 23 years old. I live on my own and am pregnant. (live in Portland, Oregon) I have heard of a law in Oregon that requires a newborn to be covered under their mother's insuarnce for the first 30 days after they are born. I have been trying to research this but have not found any information on insuarnce coverage for newborns in the state of Oregon at all. Please help.

when i had my oldest son i was still on my mom's plan and he was covered, but since you live on your own im not sure, are you considered to be her dependent? if your son isnt covered on your mom's plan then he should be eligible for state helath insurance if you have low income. i would look into that, they can probably help you figure everyhting out.

I work in a pediatricians office. Your baby is not covered under your mothers plan even though you are on it.
