Hi there. For a couple of days our 7 month baby son has had diarrhoea. This has come after a course of antibiotics to sort out a 'cold' (or more properly a bacterial infection causing lots of mucus). We were told to expect a little diarrhoea but this has now lasted a few days after the antibiotics have finished. We rang NHS direct who said he had a gastric bug and they suggested 24hrs on cool boiled water only which should kill off the bug. The problem is that our son does not like taking water from a bottle or any kind of cup. I have just this minute come from a screaming baby. I am worried that he will not get any fluid intake. Any speedy suggestion would be very welcome indeed. Thank you.

My husband surprised me with Billy Joel tickets. We're going to be in that town anyway on other business and the timing was perfect, except that there's no possible to way to get a sitter for our 11 month old baby. We will be taking our four year old (I have slight reservations about that, but, hey, it's Billy Joel not Marilyn Manson). He said the seats are up high and at the edge of the section where we wouldn't have to climb over anybody. It's looking like I'll be staying in the motel with the baby while those other two get a good show. What would you do?

I've lost all of my pregnancy weight and would like to lose about 5 more pounds, but just can't seem to get rid of it. There's about 5 pounds just hanging out on my belly. My friends say it b/c i'm nursing but it's driving me crazy! For those of you that finished breast feeding, do those last pounds just fall off? And, how much did you lose after stopping nursing?

I have a 3 day old baby who I am currently breastfeeding, only my nipples are quite sore and it hurts quite a lot when he latches on. I bought a pack of nipples shields but am unsure of when I can start using them. Do you have to wait for a certain amount of time before you can use them?

I feel over paranoid about my 3 week old's breathing. Sometimes I just stare at him and make sure that he is still breathing. This is partially because I had a HORRENDOUS dream that something happened to him, and also because he sounds a little stuffy. So I would love to know, did you feel this way too, and what "breathing noises" are normal for an infant?

When you go out to eat, how old does your baby have to be to sit in the high chair? Currently, my baby is six months and a couple weeks. He sits up very well, but is he too young to sit in one?

higher temperature?
my 1 year old was just getting over a bad flu he catched in germany. now we are bak in the the us and yesterday a other 1 year old came to hug my son in the shoestore. her grandmother explained happily that the baby has a virus, which they talked about in the news, we live in california. now i dont know weather its something bad, we havent seen the news as we were in germany.
what should i do, go to the hospital with the higher temp, can he still eat and drink everything.

i am so mad at those people for letting a sick child run around and hug other babys.

i am worried again, i could just cry, i dont want him suffering from a cold again, the last one was bad enough

My 2 month old son has been constipated for a few weeks, but we discovered that he is lactose intolerant and resolved the constipation by changing his formula. Now he is afraid to poop...when he has the urge, he will clench his little cheeks together and hold it because he is afraid it will hurt again. Does anyone know how i can get him to relax and just let it out?

My daughter is 2 months old and has started chewing on her fingers, leaving them swollen, and red. I've tried putting mitts on her but she somehow manages to pull them off. Is there anything else I can try?

My sister and I are very close, and she won't get offended or tell me to mind by own bussiness if I tell her about her baby. She also wants to know how to stop her baby from being so violent.

I know they say not to cosleep, not to put blankets or stuffed animals in bed with your baby, not to smoke around your baby, etc. How did they come up with this? My cousin did none of the above and his daughter still died at 3 months because of SIDS. I coslept with both of my daughters and neither of them died of sids. How do they know for sure though?
