You shouldn't register clothes. People are going to go into the store and pick out cute clothes for the baby regardless of whatever else they are buying for the baby. Also, since clothes are seasonal items, the clothes you registered may not be available by the time someone throws you a baby shower and you have the baby.

I worked for a company doing baby registries all day long. The most I have ever seen on a registry is 204 items. The first time moms usually put the most on there. It's exciting! Just think of it as a big wish list and have fun with it! Most places allow you to add and delete things if you change your mind so go wild. Everyone knows that you don't expect to get it all or even the most expensive items and it helps for the long lost relatives to be able to pick something they know you want. As long as your feet will carry you I would just have fun with it! Good luck but remember they grow out of those cute little clothes real Quick!

You can put whatever you want on your registry. Keeping in mind of when your baby is due and approximately what size he/she will be in when those clothes are in season. Most stores (all the ones that I registered at) separate items into different groups, something like home, bedding, bath, feeding, and clothes, so if someone didn't want to look at clothes than they don't have to or they could just look at that section. But I will say that i only got one thing from my registry so I don't even really think it matters what you put on there.

Becareful because you might end up with a bunch of small clothes and left to buy some of the larger items yourself.

If you have a few select things groups of people with normally go together and furnish your nursery.

You don't know the size of your baby and some babies skip sizes all together. My son didn't really wear any 3 to 6 months clothing.

Lots of people pick baby clothes that they like too not what you choose.

I would take off some of the clothing! Take Care. SD

Just because you scanned 170 items doesn't mean you will get 170 items. I would have stayed away from so many clothes though because if you get a ton of them, more then likely, the baby will grow out of them before he/she can even wear it.

I think it's a great idea to choose anything you would like or need, as long as that's the case, as many as you would like to choose is fine. It allows people more options to buy for you, leaving them with a good feeling that they are buying you something you really want/need for the new baby. You should be enjoying this first experience to the fullest, and that means enjoying all the new baby items too.

I think if you gave a lot of variety in prices it is a good thing. One thing that is bad about having too many outfits is the description on the registry doesn't always make it easy to find, they will have to guess what it mmight be then match the upc. I like when I have a large selection of what to purchase. Like I said as long as there is a variety in prices, affordable to everyone shopping. Hope you get what you want!

I think you should take off the clothes. People buy the clothes they like anyway. Just stick to the stuff you really need on the registry.

Scanning clothes is pointless... people are going to pick out what they think is cute.
I didn't receive anything on my registry. Make sure you leave all the tags on the clothes... you'll probably get duplicates, and a lot of the small sizes (which they grow out of quickly)

People *are* going to buy you clothes even if you don't ask for them. And as stated above, they are likely only going to buy clothes thaty they think are cute. I would sugest taking off a majority of the clothes and keep the list to about 1.5 items per guest invited to the baby shower.
