There are no advantages to giving your baby a bottle. It is nasty, unintelligent and expensive. Formula is artificial and smells horrible. When a baby drinks formula their bowel movements smell awful where a breastfed babies bowel movements have no odor. Likewise when a bottle fed baby spits up the smell of sour milk is everywhere, IF a breastfed baby spits up there is no odor. Bottle feeding is inconvenient and unsanitary. You will spend precious energy washing and sterilizing bottles and nipples and even then your baby will have to wait screaming and crying while you fix a bottle. You will have to get out of bed in the middle of the night while your baby cries and fix a bottle, then you will have to heat it up while your baby has now worked herself up to screaming like crazy. NO one in their right mind should bottle feed their baby unless they are HIV positive.
On the other hand, even if a mother could only nurse her baby for one month she would be giving him an invaluable gift. Continued breastfeeding will protect your baby against most childhood diseases. In fact, breasted babies are rarely sick.
Nursing your baby will protect him or her against most of the childhood diseases that he could encounter. Just the colosturm alone will provide your baby with antibodies that will protect your newborn against staphyloccus infections, polio virus, cocksackie B virus, infant diarrhea and Escherichia coli infection....the germs that newborns are most susceptible to. Colostrum is what your breasts will produce in late pregnancy and is the perfect, sweet, clear food for your baby. It is all that your little one will need until your milk comes in, and even if you are not going to let your baby breastfeed, please let him at least have the colostrum.
I can not say enough about the benefits of nursing your baby. A breastfeeding mother burns up around 1000 calories a day just making milk and as it help your uterus to contract you will get your figure back sooner.
Breastfeeding is SO important that it has been said that if you breastfeed there is very little you can do wrong. Breastfeeding takes care of both the emotional and the physical needs of the baby and the mother. It is the ideal, perfect way to nurture and to nourish your baby.
Contact La Leche League if you have any more questions or need any information about breastfeeding. You can read about them at www.lalecheleague.org There should also be a lactation expert at your hospital where you give birth. Even as young as you are it is possible for you to nurse your baby.
Take care and good luck

Well Breast feeding is healthier than bottle. Your baby might have a better chance of getting a desiese from breast feeding than bottle and Your baby might just be smarter if you breast feed.

bottle feeding is easier but breast feeding cares a nutrient for the babys brain development that no formula can provide.

the ingredient is called dha/ara and some formulas try to mock this..
but formula is very costly as all items for babies...but you being 13 years old i am not sure if you will be able to....

if you do bottle fed buy the ventaire bottles to reduce gas air bubbles in the bottle and mycolin gas drops.

consider all options!!! vkewl182@yahoo.com

It helps create a bond between you and the baby and also gives them all the nutrition they need to start their lives. It is cheap and you will get your body back quicker than if you bottle feed.

Breast-feeding your child is only good if you do not ever intend to smoke, drink, eat improperly, drink caffeine, etc., etc., etc. The natural defenses against certain illnesses, the child is born with. Baby formula has every vitamin and mineral that a child needs. Besides, people who breast feed tend to start feeding a baby FOOD much later. Babies get hungry, and within a couple of months are not satisfied by milk alone.
