As long as you can do it....then good for you! With my daughter, when she was getting too big and it started to feel a little inappropriate...I pumped the breastmilk and she got it in a cup a few times a day. My son decided he was done on his own around age 14 months. In some cultures they continue to bf until te kid is like 5....but that is frowned upon in our society. But then again....there are a lot of people who frown upon bf in general...like in public places. I say....THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE THERE FOR!! And to those who feel that babies should be breastfed in a restroom....EXCUSE ME FOLKS...BUT I DON'T WANT TO WATCH YOU EAT EITHER SO COULD YOU PLEASE TAKE YOUR PLATE OF FOOD AND EAT IT WHILE SITTING BY THE TOILET! Ugh! People stick their nose in the air in regards to natures way of feeding our babies with the milk that we mothers have produced...yet they drink milk that comes from the tit of a cow!!!
To all moms who breastfeed without reservation...YOU GO GIRLS!!!!

Great job! I actually pumped, but I just stopped pumping for my 10 month old. However, I do have about a 3 month supply in the freezer too.
Nurse as long as you want. It's such a great start for your baby.

14 1/2 months.
My step-mom breastfed both of my sisters til they were 18 months. (They are 3 years apart in age.)
My grandmother nursed my youngest uncle 15 months. Had to wean the others earlier, as she was always preg with the next one, though.
You's doing NOTHING wrong. Keep going as long as you are comfortable with it. It's good for both of you health-wise, but also good bonding time.

11 months with my first (only stopped because I was pregnant and she weaned myself when my milk production slowed way down), and going on 13 months with my second (planning to continue until at least 2, or until he weans himself. Good for you!
