I am due on the 29th of Jan and just wondering the likelihood of going into labour that day? How long do you usually have to wait before inducement?

My husband and I were just chatting and I said the socks that our 2 month old girl were wearing were too small. They barely fit her as a newborn. He said "when does she stop being a newborn, and become an infant?" It got me wondering, and I thought I would post this question... does anyone know? I think it is probably around 1 month or so... Thanks!

I've never understood why parents think it's okay to consent to this procedure. I am especially adamant about my position after having seen the procedure preformed recently during my schooling. It is frightening, in my opinion, what happens. I feel so sorry for the helpless infant. I don't understand why the parents of these boys opt to have them circumcised even after the doctors inform them that there is no longer a recommendation to have it done.

I feel that it is a violation of the infant's right to have a functional piece of their body removed without their consent. I think parents should be forced to see the procedure being done before getting their sons circumcised. It might change their minds!

Why is this procedure still being preformmed in this day and age???

I am from sommalia, after we got engaged my mother checked my to be wife to check if she was circumcised.Sadly she was not circumcised. My mother decided to circumcise her the same night of our marriage.I remember she was escorted into the room with my mother. She did not know anything about what she was getting into.Though I knew I didnt tell as i know she would not co-operate.My mother stripped her naked and fifteen women who come with the circumciser took hold of her and pinned her on the bed. They opened her legs wide open and riped clotoris out.I was not allowed to come in but i knew they had started to cut her as she was screaming her lungs out.No sooner did they rip her clotoris she became unconcious and she started bleeding very profusely. We rushed her to the hospital were she was given 4 sticthes. She was unconcious for 3 days after which she regained concious..She is so scared that she is not allowing anyone to have a glimpse of it ,she is unconsolable how can I help her recover?

I am going on 38 weeks and here lately I have been, in the middle of the night, woke myself up feeling about to regurgitate. It can't be the same as heartburn because i've had heartburn my whole pregnancy but just started feeling the regurgitation. It just bothers me that its so bad and so strong that it wakes me out of my sleep.

baby is 3 1/2 months old and very attatched to mother. Baby is being breast fed. When left alone she cries and seems to fight sleep. Wife says she MUST pick her up when crying because if she doesn't, she will turn blue because she cries so hard. I thought it was best to let them just cry, but am I wrong?

My bf is in jail now and gets out at the end of Feb. What kinds of things can he do to bond with our son (he'll be about 6.5 mo's old then) when he gets out? Will he know his voice from in the womb? Will he have a hard time accepting new people then?
Any advice, thanks so much

My 6 month old little princess does not have her ears pierced. I do not want to do it until she asks for it herself. My reasons are that it is not MY right to put holes in her skin without her consent and I also look forward to her excitement and beautiful smile when she is old enough and decides to do it herself.

Her mom and her entire family insisit we do it now. We argue about it all the time and they have actually told me one day I will come home and it will be done. The mom and I are not married, can she legally do this? If they did would I be overreacting by being angry...which I would be? Any advice is greatly appreciated...the enemy could strike any day while I am at work... PLEASE NO TEENY BOPPERS ANSWERING THIS QUESTION... I NEED ADULTS WHO MAY HAVE HAD THIS SAME EXPERIENCE OR KNOW "LEGAL" RIGHTS IN THIS SITUATION. Yes, it is that serious to me.

My 9 mth old only needs the pacifier at night and during naps to sleep. She often loses it and wakes up crying every hour or so. I am constantly having to get up and plug her back in. I would be fine with her having it until about a year if shesatyed asleep but she doesn't. Any ideas on how to wean her from it? I m not sure about doing it cold turkey since shes so young. Thanks

I've heard that a blood test can determine pregnancy 7 days after conception. Is this true?

OK, I'm NOT complaining, but my 1 week old will sleep for 6 hours at night. Is this OK? She eats about 2 ounces, is awake for about an hour, then dozes off. During the day, she'll eat every 2-3 hours, but I'm just concerned about the stretch at night. We have a Dr's appointment later this week, but you know how it is.....I just wondered if anyone else has had this with their little one.

Thanks!

I'm looking for baby pageants for my 7 month old daughter in the Northern Cali area or Southern Oregon area????

2007-01-14 15:21:24 · 4 answers · asked by Tasha D 1

I have a four month old daughter who had slept through the night since she was three weeks old. However recently she began waking up three to four times during the night. She is usually not hungry until about 4 or 5 am. When she wakes up periodicaly through the night she wimpers or cries until you pick her up but usually as soon as I do pick her up and pat her she goes right back to sleep. Even though she might awaken again in thirty minutes or sometimes hours you just never know. We have tried different rooms, bed, car seat, playyard, etc. but nothing is helping. Also when she first goes to sleep at night she might have to be rocked three to four times before she actually goes to all the way to sleep. So many times we put her down and minutes later she is wide awake. We are more exhausted now then when we brought her home. Any advice?
