applesauce
cooked fresh peas
mashed potato (with formula)
With both my kids I bought a baby food grinder (8.99 at babies r us) and I ground up everything we ate. They both loved it. It was dishwasher safe and ground up meats as well (it left the stringy stuff behind in a little trap under the grinder. Good luck mommy! Take it slow and easy though...remember only one new food once a week.

pretty much anything..there r no rules they r more of guide lines...i wouldn't do meat yourself its difficult to blend, but use gravies instead...just give them only 1 kind of food at time time give them it for a few days to make sure no reaction...my daughter is 6 mths old and has had almost every veggie and fit out there already...and she just had chicken today...like i said all those rules that people go by were meant as a guide line not an absolute...just if u have an allergies in the family i would hold off on giving your baby that food item until after the 1st year...Good Luck

I would try green beans, carrots, peas, potatos, and sweet potatos. Some babies like prunes mashed up. Or you can mix any one of these things with baby cereal and or some cereal with formula and a banana mixed in. Babies like that, but here is the recipie my little sister and brother liked the best, and it was healthy and filling:
Yogurt
Banana
Rice or oatmeal cereal
Milk
Make however much your baby eats or you think you will need. You can make a double portion and save some for the next meal, but don't save it longer than a couple hours because the bananas get all black and yucky. But when I was 13 my mom had my youngest brother and it was my job to feed him, and when he was hungry, he would eat a whole cereal bowl of this stuff, and it was good hot or cold. Even when he would wake up at night and be hungry, we would whip up a bowl of this for him and it filled him up and he would sleep all night. Try using more cereal to fill up your baby faster!

Anything, really. Just make sure it's soft and mushy. Don't give your baby nuts, seafood, strawberries, or any kind of citrus. That's bad for them until they are at least two. Try some carrots, apples, bananas, and other fruits and veggies! Babies at that age aren't too picky. They enjoy the new textures and tastes. When they get to be about 1, they start getting choosy about what foods they eat. Just have fun and experiment!

I have an 8 month old and you can pretty much blend any veggie or even meats, but stay away from anything seasoned or even mildly spicy, their little digestive systems are soo sensitive to so much! Also blended fruits are good, just don't add sugar or honey...have fun with it though and good luck!

Any unseasoned veggie you can cook soft and then blend. All of mine loved peas, carrots and potatoes. The infant cereal is really good for them, I always mixed it with formula in a bowl. Meats are very messy but if you want to try it, go for it, just be prepared for a mess to clean up.

Mine is 6 months old too! It's great isn't it? We give her real bananas, of course I mash them with a spoon and then feed her small portions, mashed pinto beans, mashed potato's, and these are pretty much her favorite things. She does not have any teeth yet but is very curious about what we eat...as long as you can mash it with a spoon and make a little puree with it and it has no spices or chunks left after the mashing...you should be able to give it to her.

Stick to baby food. There are any number of foods that small children can't properly digest. Foods such as honey are actually harmful. The best rule of thumb is,always before making A change, check with your pediatrician.

i made all of my sons baby food. google. there are tons of sites with baby food recipes. you can also check your local book store. glad makes 4 oz reusable containers. a pack of 8 is like $3. they are freezer and dishwahser safe. the containers are great because you can make up stuff in advance and label and freeze it.
