okay, at the end of this month I'm moving 5 hours away to be a fulltime nanny for my cute baby nephew when his Mom goes back to work...I've cared for my nieces before and spent time with babies and love them so much..i just kinda wanna know what to expect and what I can do to be the best caretaker for him...I'll be with him mostly from 7am-3 pm weekdays...should I expect him to be on a pretty regulary feeding/ napping schedule by this point? you should know he arrived about 7 weeks early and he will be 10 weeks old and just over 6 lbs..(YAY! he's over doubled in weight since born!) when I start to care for him full time..any baby tips, Books, and adjustment changes to expect would be great...I want to do a great job for him and I love kids....THANKS!!!!!!!!~

As for specifics on schedules I would definitely ask the mama, but otherwise one of the best things I can recommend is using a sling. I have a maya wrap sling and it is wonderful! My baby is 100% content when he's in a sling. When he was really little it was guaranteed that as soon as I put him in that thing he would go right to sleep. It simulates the feeling of being in the womb and it is very relaxing and comfortable for the baby and the caregiver. Otherwise, things like going for a ride in a car can soothe a fussy baby, or going for a walk with a stroller.

Well, my only advice is...ask the momma! It really is up to her. You know what the scheduling routine will be. Although, even a mother cannot predict the changes that the baby will go through, however, it really will be up to her and you. You will be sharing the care of this sweet little baby.
It will certainly be a task to take care of a newborn...but as long as you have love and lots of patience....you will do a fine job!!
2nd piece of advice....when in doubt ask for help!! It can be very trying to take care of a newborn...sometimes it can be very frustrating...so be sure to ask for help if you become overwhelmed at any point.
I wish you luck...and congrats for your nephew...on doing so well!

because nanny bottle feeds, your toddler has gotten used to the 'swifter' provide of milk from a bottle. She supplies up after 10 mintues of breast feedinb becuase she's no longer getting that exact same instantaneous gratification. She's also no longer ingesting sufficient, both becuase it truly is in trouble-free words 10 minutes and when you consider that she's hungry an hour later. (and when you consider that she's sucking so puzzling on pacifier, it more suitable heavily resembles the bottle, it truly is what she needs.) If I were you, i'd change and only pump and bottle feed her. in case you fairly favor the bonding of bf'ing, you are able to start her on breast and then end with bottle. in case you realy dont favor to attempt this, you want to artwork by skill of and get her to breast feed longer. rub down her cheeks, tickle her ft, and so on...keep her conscious and ingesting...and dont provide her that pacifier till she's had sufficient.

He will sleep and eat and poop alot. If you want to go for a walk... put him for his nap in his car seat.. otherwise you'll have to wait for him to wake up or wake him up and he'll be grupmy and screaming for hours.. 7 weeks early.. he will sleep alot. Have fun and congrads on the awesome job
